This is why raider.io is still going to be very valuable even with Blizzards half baked version.
Sure if you’re pushing 15s let alone 20s or something someone with no M+ experience is definitely no go. Then again when I was playing retail I was only in 12-14 range and I really only did then for weekly vault so timing wasn’t massively important to me.
All my point is that a mythic raider will be competent to where they shouldn’t be dead weight. They should be able to put out numbers and do mechanics, but they would likely be expecting the tank to make them follow the right route. You definitely won’t be getting any records with them.
That would work if the toxic waterfall from the top hadn’t poisoned the other player’s minds.
Funny, I’ve never had a problem building and filling m0 groups on alts.
Maybe because I’m not drowning in a victim complex.
It will work. I don’t think these super toxic players exist in 0’s. I don’t think they exist at all, but that’s another conversation lol.
Are you crazy? Those people exist in every single leveling dungeon.
ilvl is an awful guide to performance. i can’t tell you how many 205+ boomkins i’ve seen who can barely break 1.5k dps.
Yeah…I don’t believe that lol. Some people see toxicity in everything. I can guarantee you that you’ll get a mythic 0 group without any hassle if you start your own group.
I see elitism rampant in the game. I’m a casual who doesn’t do keys. But if I did, no way would I invite someone who had never run the content.
In my experience most “good” raiders do both. Unless they’re guildies or I feel like helping someone get a high key done (which I’ve done on many occasions) I’m not gonna take anyone to a high key with no experience that I’m looking to actually time.
I remember coming back around the start of 8.3 and jumping on my Holy Paladin that had been parked since WoD in Mythic BRF gear. Decided to run a random leveling dungeon to see how was in the current iteration of WoW. Figured since I was Mythic geared for the appropriate level I could at least click cast Holy Light/FoL to get through a leveling dungeon. Landed in a Vortex Pinnacle run where the tank immediately pulled the entire starting trash (3-4 packs). Since I didn’t realize that a Mythic geared Paladin for the appropriate level that I was currently at could only heal for 10% of a tanks health unless I popped cooldowns I get attacked with a profanity laden rant by the tank and continued to be spammed for the next few hours. This is the stuff that you guys are defending and promoting by your gatekeeping.
that is such a huge, ridiculous, absurd stretch in logic. Who someone chooses to invite to their m+ group has nothing to do with you being unprepared to heal a normal leveling dungeon ![]()
It is the mindset that is sent to other players to not play unless they are overgeared and there is no risk of failure. It is super toxic and damaging to the idea of community.
I’m not gatekeeping you. You just need to put the time in. I wouldn’t let you work on my car if you didn’t have any experience either. I can count on one hand how many nasty tells I’ve gotten since BFA and I pug nearly everything. If it’s happening you that often, dare I say you might be the cause.
When you require 210 ilvl for a M0 you are hard gatekeeping because it is impossible to attain 210 without doing said content.
In my personal experience, I think both are pretty un-interchangeable. From m+ to raid, I think dps is the the outlier. Going from healing or tanking m+ to raid? I have seen a lot of common and easy mistakes just because they operate quite differently imo.
Seeing as the “meta” is to only push on fortified weeks, boss tanking is easily a skill that m+ tanks need to improve on if they aren’t used to it.
this again. you all need to step away from the concept that one player not inviting you to their group is them somehow gatekeeping you from dungeons.
that’s defeatist, helpless and frankly selfish. No one owes you anything. No other player has the power to gatekeep you from the dungeon system. No other player can prevent you from making a group.
you have the exact same access to start a group as the guy who didn’t invite you.
use it.
Also, people don’t realize just how many dps are competing for the same couple spots lol.
As the first few posts have indicated, this is clearly the MAJORITY of the truth.
HOWEVER …
You’re not getting 10/10 Heroic and CERTAINLY not progression into Mythic if you don’t understand the FUNDAMENTALS of how WoW works. Those fundamentals are extremely basic and translate across the whole game. NAMELY: Don’t stand in stuff, and INTERRUPT SPELLS.
Just those two things are going to account for at least 50-60% of all “mechanics” when it comes to timing a +15. So yes, there is a big portion that is specific and unique to each dungeon that would help to know. But … really… if you’re not standing in bad and you’re interrupting spells, and you’re i220+ because you’ve been raiding, you’re not the “typical” low-IO person applying for a run.
There needs to be SOME latitude given for that.
If it were one player or a small number then it wouldn’t be an issue. It is widespread and rampant within the community. The make your own group is just as ridiculous as the reroll a tank argument.
