If you think that Final Fantasy is a “dog” game… Youve never played past level 5. Also. considering your name, Ratdog, and you used the word dog 5 times in your short post to describe something… I cant tell if you have an obsession with that word, have some special needs or are just weird. Either way, as much as ive disliked WoW lately ive never heard of it being under 1m subs… But if your going to say its bad because snother game is doing well, pick a game that actually sucks next time.

Yea I am hopeful for a good expansion like I really hope that we get the old zones back to how they were but modernized. The cataclysm was so long ago, it would have been fixed by now.

as long as blizz learns from their msitakes, and most importantly (Like Blizz if your reading super important) as long as they keep the work theve don and stop throwing everything out the window for the sake of change it will be really cool.
BFA at first was really bare bones and felt unfinshed now its alright but still haven’t touched essences yet, though I’ve watched a lot of videos and its why I resubbed.
it kinda pissed me off they finally got everything right in the last patch of legion (okay maybe not everything but it was super fun for me) , and then they just get rid of legendries entirely, I mean it felt like everything they improved on and made super fun in legion, they just threw out the window, and said refarm the same three traits for the next 6 months. legendaries had a vendor, mage tower was up, all the classes I played (all but DH, Druid, Monk) imo besides hunter were super fun, no gcd stuffs where it feels like a bore to multi dot stuff ( seriously how day turn a frantic fun, “oh shoot I’ve got 16 adds on me dot them up” into a boring thing, makes me baffled and sad)
im getting off topic but basically all the cool stuf they are implementing in BFA like heroic warfronts, etc I hope they expand on in the next expansion, and maybe (for the love of god please) bring back some things from legion like legos with a vendor, or the mage tower, or CLASS CAMPAIGNS WITH VOICE ACTING, that shoot was so cool; so is this campaing but you know, blocked behind a rep grind at first, it was just so bass ackwards

Cataclysm was a very good expansion?
The people that don’t like it, don’t like it because it followed wotlk.
You got to fly, good dungeons, transmog, new profession. Give me cataclysm any day over the last 3.

I don’t think it’s realistic they can get many subs back. So I highly doubt they will spend much on it. So no.
If it follows the trend then Legion > Next xpac > BfA. It will still have pathfinder, sharding, and will likely be the worst xpac for PvP ever.
I expect nothing but more Wqs, another 8 months of no flying, ect.

Considering that Blizz is running on the last fumes of goodwill, It has to be a really good expansion not just a slight improvement. Luckily my expectations are super low at this point.

The loss in MoP was less significant than any other. But I think you’re missing the point. The point is that it has been a steady decline since MoP and there was no bad-good-bad-good expansion leap frogging.

If the next Xpac’s design and systems are anything like BFA, I’m sure it will be the end for most of the players left.

No, I don’t expect it to be any better than BfA.
Class design needs to improve very significantly and flight needs to be available far sooner in the xpac with no permanently no-fly zone added. No rental gear exploding hamster wheel (AP grind for artifact weapons/heart of azeroth) either. Classes need to be fully complete the moment you hit the level cap. I don’t expet those to happen unfortunately.
We’ll see what happens when it comes to patch 9.0 class design - that’s probably the most likely to change. Ion had some words that sound great on the surface, but after the last few xpacs and the horrid state of class design I’m definitely wary.

It’s without a doubt going to be made by Expansion Dev Team A, however I am not looking forward to the expansion after the next.
