I click lust.
This is the way, for sure. Anything I either only have to press every 30 minutes or more or if I press it mid-fight incorrectly I screw up the key gets a click.
I use only keybinds and don’t even have visible action bars. I get how people could be clickers in content like delves and heroic dungeons but I have no idea how anyone gets away with it in higher difficulty raiding or M+.
I use both, but my cooldowns are bound to R, T, F, and G, which are easy to access with my index finger.
Secondary spells go on Alt+1 through Alt+5, with my thumb holding the Alt key .
My main spells are on 1–5, and anything further down the bar is reserved for less important spells.
I try to minimize left-hand movement so my fingers are always close to WASD.
50/50. I have all my build ups bound and then I have my finishers to click. I’ve just always played both handed and ambidextrous since the original Diablo. It’s just whatever is comfortable for people. I also don’t have the time or the patience to memorize which key bind is which so I simply drop them on the bar as one through eight and then click whatever else I need.
This is easy if you always bind the same type of ability to the same key. I bind most of my rotational abilities to my 12 button mouse according to the same scheme (where main builders go, where damage CDs go etc). Then I put any spenders or finishers that I use frequently on the keys closest to WASD, such as Q and E. R is always interrupt, T is always stun, G is always AOE CC, F is always taunt or another spender, C is for target at cursor abilities, ` is for movement abilities, 1-6 are various healing and utility abilities, and so on.
That way no matter which class or spec I’m playing I always have the same basic control scheme and I don’t have to memorize much.
I mean that’s not a horrible idea, but my mouse is a basic gaming mouse with five buttons. I have no interest in putting more than five buttons on a mouse because at that point I’m still technically clicking and then I have to remember, which of the buttons on the mouse is the button for the corresponding ability. So I’m glad it works for some people, but it doesn’t work for me.
I click spells that would be a detriment to fat-finger, like Bloodlust and Divine Shield. They also don’t get used as often, so there’s less need to bind them.
Ive keybinded most things my entire time in WoW. I even keep my main flying mount keybound. I dont keep any other mounts or spells that I barely use often keybound though. I tend to click those only when needed.
On my Warlocks I keep all my summons, closet, stones, water breathing, gates etc etc on a bar with no keybinds and click those when needed.
I cast most of my rotation from my mouse. I click a few things like defensives or cool downs so that I don’t fat finger them.
Clicker here and proud of it.
Only things I click are Soulwell, cloak for glider, food, flask, oil, and occasionally belt for boost if I don’t feel like moving my hand far from its resting position.
Might also click a mount if I don’t want to use whatever I have bound to Shift-D, or want to make use of my transmog yak.
Some people still use arrow keys to rotate their camera, i dont get it personally
I keybind abilitiea that are part of a rotation. Click on others that I do not use all
the time.
Over time that becomes muscle memory. You think people just immediately play with new keybinds perfectly day 1? It also helps to put similar spells on the same buttons for different classes. Like keep your interrupt on the same keybind on all your classes. That way your muscle memory carries over.
Once the basic ones are muscle memory, you can add to it over time.
Part of returning to the game after skipping shadow lands was to use that fresh slate to train myself out of clicking.
I maintain my dps rotation and important stuff via binds, but i do click on some situational stuff, i know it can hurt me in the spur of the moment when one of these things is randomly needed, but i just don’t care lol
I’ve always done that. And I have played some hardcore stuff doing cutting edge back in MoP
I ALSO click if I tank/DPS (mouse over macros for healing)
Oh, and I have never had a single addon
It took about 15 years, but I finally convinced my buddy to use an mmo mouse.
There’s a bit of bar setup and it takes a few good days to build the muscle memory, but needless to say his rotation is better than ever.
Some can click at a ridiculous level, gladiator ClickerDH comes to mind…
….But you are not ClickerDH
Bind your keyboard or get a 12 button mouse!
