I’ll go to say even before the typical mythic raid carries start race to world first is incredibly $$$$$$ heavy. Paid split runs, BoE purchases cost the teams a chunk of what they aspire to win (not that it’s about the prize…)
I bought a Moose Run in WOD. 50,000 gold from a guild on my serveer. Nothing since.
i dont care if people do or don’t
their money, their choice
Level Boosts? These days not really, I have everything at or close enough to max and I don’t view having duplicates of classes as anything but a waste of time (or money). A handful of years ago yeah sure. Leveling in general just kinda sucks, so skipping most of it was solid, even if overpriced.
Content Carries? Depends. I’ve used them twice. Both times to try and catch up a bit quicker after not participating in endgame for awhile. I don’t touch 'em when I’m actually playing actively because I’m doing the content anyway.
I used level boosts back when it was easier to boost than level (When we went to high lvls). Now Leveling is so easy I just went back to doing that. I’ve also bought WoW tokens in the past mostly to upgrade my heirlooms but since Heirlooms are useless now I haven’t bought a token in awhile. Now I spend real world money for mounts and stuff. Shamelessly. I’m an adult and I can spend my adult money on whatever I want.
I would if they weren’t so expensive but leveling is fast enough that it’s tough to justify.
Depending on how much I dont feel like leveling one of my alts, I may just buy a leveling boost with gold. No RMT. Learned that lesson. No thank you no more suspensions.
They’re not talking about leveling.
In The past when the game was really good I didn’t mind purchasing boosts and tokens. Unfortunately, I’ve not had the urge to spend any money on this game since Shadowlands so anything I do now is just a login and play for free for a bit.
That is against the tos
Have good luck getting banned
I paid for a HC Archimonde kill at the very end of WoD for the Grove Warden.
It was only like 10k Gold lol those boosts were being farmed big time.
I regretted it though.
I could have done it without the boost. But my raid guild fell apart on HFC progress due to IRL drama in the inner clique of friends and I just lost motivation.
I’ll never boost again. It’s like going into a Trophy store and buying yourself some blank trophies. Just lying to yourself.
Nope. I enjoy playing the game.
However I did strongly consider buying a Mythic carry for the fire bird in Dragonflight, since that is content I would never complete on my own. But the price was always too high for me to justify it.
I have never bought a boost or charged for any such thing to others. Not my thing.
I did get my heroic sylvanas kill though because some sweet solo DH tank was running her over and over again out of the kindness of his heart. That was cool to watch.
I do drag several guildies, and have been dragged by guildies, though grossly inappropriate keys though.
I mean, I’ve level boosted in the past… but that all the boosting I’d ever do. I also at the same time, am not worried about what others do with their time and funds… as long as they’re enjoying themselves and no one is affected by it.
Tried it once, didn’t enjoy it. Been part of selling PvE carries, don’t mind it, it’s their choice.
Level boosts make the characters feel empty to me.
Have paid gold in the past to get AotC mounts, I’ve never done it for gear.
Nope. I don’t even use the free ones they give with new expansions. I’ve got several sitting right there on my login screen.
I prefer to go through the leveling process myself because it I use that time to learn a new class, or a new spec.
I’ve bought AotC for gold a few times because the raid sucked and I didn’t feel it was worth it to push heroic. I just wanted the mount, anyway.
nice try admins, bans incoming*
No, I don’t see the point in buying boost. This is a video game and its purpose is to play it. So why boost…? I don’t get it.
