Do You Buy Boosts?

What’s the consensus on this?

I do it without hesitation and I revel in it. Do you use money or do you use gold (or a derivative such as the WoW token)?

What’s your poison?

I’ve sold a lot…

I think the token really opened pandora’s box. Boosting always existed but for the most part it was big ticket collector items. Mainly mounts.

The token really kicked off lower difficulty content sales

No

I can level up on my own

I don’t like group content much to start with, no way am I paying to do it, gold or other wise.

also, RMT, Real Money Trading, for in game services WILL get you banned.

Not suspended, banned.

DON’T DO IT!!

I use the boosts Blizzard gave me with expansion purchases. It’s generally not worth the money to me otherwise.

Onĺy boosts i do come with expansions . No wxtra ones and no paying gold to get others to help level boost me in game.

As for tokens i only buy them when money is tight to give me an extra month of game time.

Mostly i just buy 60 day game cards.

Is this how you get your alleged 3k io and 13s done?

I’ve bought mythic mounts with gold. I’ve sold low keys and heroic raid carries in the past. So been on both sides. I don’t really care what people do.

Nope. Still have them all from the free ones I have.

You save yourself a good weekend of fun.

No, I’m cheap.

Leveling is stupidly fast now, so I wouldn’t even if I was looking to level from level 1. Back around BFA, leveling took significantly longer and if all you wanted was a max level character the boost made perfect sense when you weighed time spent versus the cost, measured against even just a minimum wage job.

Of course you had your “it’s the principle of it” detractors, but those people are silly geese.

Never have, never will.

To me, starting from scratch always made me feel more of a connection to the character.

It’s an RPG, after all.

And if I bought any clears or achievements, it’d just feel hollow.

Everything I do, is something I’ve done on my own, organically.

This. With leveling being so fast, there is 0 reason to buy a boost nowadays…not that I ever have.

No i just use freebies that come with expansions

Leveling is really fast. Also i have one of each class at a reasonably high level so i don’t feel the need.

I don’t like the store character boosts so much. I use them and then I don’t know what my buttons do and it’s a little overwhelming vs just leveling a character myself.

If you mean buy a run to clear content or get something, I did do that once! For the moose mount in legion. They told me where to stand and to just die there lol. Not exactly a fun experience but I got what I paid for in gold. Was a steal imo, 30k gold.

If you are not a meta class unfortunately it’s the only way to get 3k, unless you have a very skilled dedicated push group. Otherwise no one will ever invite you

Levelling boosts? No. I’ll use the free one every time they toss me it, but you somehow manage to learn less about the class than levelling as quick as you can if you do boost.

If you’re talking IO/Gear boosts, also no. I’m not handicapped enough to need someone to hold my hand through relatively easy content. The hardest part about anything below a +14 or mythic raid is the sheer patience needed to wait for everyone else to get the memo about the mechanics so you can actually do it.

Boosts? No, never have. My partner bought he and I the achievement in Hellfire Citadel so we could get the Grove Warden mount, since we’d stopped raiding by then. But that’s it.

I use the free one with my expansion purchases. If I want a new max level I level it.

Leveling is fast enough.

I still have the 70 from this expansion and the one from DF that I have never used.

I’ll buy carries for end of expansion AOTCs for the mount and stuff, but I’ll never buy gear/leveling boosts. If I happen to snag something from the boss during my carry, then that’s cool, but I’m not there for gear.
