Do you actually want a new class?

I just want them to make the existing classes good again

Monk was based off the Brewmaster Hero unit from Warcraft 3.

Just like every other class. It takes direct inspiration from Warcraft 3.

This is where the desire for Tinker comes from. Since there was a Tinker hero unit.

Original to WoW.

We already have engineers.

Get rid of the engineers and it might be entertaining.

That’s fair. I want any class added to the game to take inspiration from Warcraft 3.

Engineers don’t have any abilities that the Tinker hero had in Warcraft 3.
No pocket factories. No missile barrage, no Mech suit that you can use in combat.

Pocket factory? Now you have my attention.

Hunter has barrage. (I know, it is my hunter’s ace in the hole/oh crap ability)

A different type of amour? One engineers could craft? And only tinkers, gnomes or goblins could use? Extra stat or something if both a tinker and gnome or goblin?

This speaks of new, this speak of diversity. Now you definitely have my attention!

If its just going to be another build/spender like 85% of the other classes then no. If it will be unique then sure.

A pocket factory is an indescribable contraption. That helps the Tinker do damage.

In warcraft 3, It created clockwerk goblins that would waddle towards enemies and explode. This is neat. But clearly designed around the game being an RTS.

The Pocket factory is easily translated into a sort of damage dealing turrets. Or essentially a temporary summon that helps the engineer do damage.

I like to look at Gazlowe in Heroes of the Storm. He can build turrets. And when he breaks those turrets, He gets massive cooldown reduction to help him rebuild somewhere else.

Hunter’s barrage is nice. But the Tinkers missile Barrage is more like an air strike.
Remember in legion when the Rogue had Cannonball Barrage? That’s a closer comparison

The Tinker winds up and fires a missile battery from their back, bombarding a small area with a channel.

This is a really complicated idea for an ability. But I can actually make it really simple.

Make it similar to bear druid. It’s simply a transform form. With a really neat look.

While inside of the Mech suit, the Tinker could have access to Tanking abilities. Like doing impromptu repairs on the suit, or using energy shields.

It would have a Tank class. Back in WC3. Tinkers were absurdly tanky once they leveled up.

That’s a tough one… probably not. They have enough issues making current classes fun. Now with them living by the borrowed power each expansion. It’d be a pretty big mess of things.

Gnome demolition teams (yeah I know its goblins and dwarves) because who doesn’t want to blow up gnomes.

I would repeat the uldum quest as often as I could if they would let you roll the fusion core over gnomes again.

I am very glad they are doing away with Malestrom.

I maybe got it for Enhancement but the fact it was Elemental too…

Okay I’m in. As long as it is restricted to mechanically-inclined races like Goblins, Gnomes, Space Goats, ect and non-earthy races like Blood Elves, Humans, ect. No Taurens or Night Elves for example.

I needed a new cause anyway what with signing of the Great High Elf Compromise Accord (GHECA for short, pronounced with Orcish infliction for reasons no one can figure out).

I think the issue with bard is it would either become super meta and required in every serious group, or never used at all. If made as a support role I mean.

The balancing would be quite hard to do imo

I would first want the classes first and foremost to be made better, more balanced, then add new specs to existing classes, and lastly new classes.

I just want a new ranged class or spec or a new healer. Give me a non magicky healer with a ranged dps spec. Give me the Tinker class.

Necromancer would be a good addition. Unholy has enough going for it that it’s not a big deal to lose Necromancy, and Demo is a badly designed spec that doesn’t work in a post-Legion world where Classes are valued more than Specs.

We need a new Ranged/Healer, and Necro is the only option that could fit that bill that has sway at the lore table right now. Tinker or Dark Ranger are the other two options, but Tinker seems more like a full on hybrid class with 3 roles, and Dark Ranger seems like double or triple ranged.

I think if they do, should be a ranged class. I have no idea what it could be/use, we have elemental, natural, whatever mages use, fel/dirty/evil/welcome to warlocks damage, and holy damage.

Whats left? Maybe flinging the poop from the various poop quests that we do?

Maybe we could just curl, or hurl, Tauren. Imagine a big, hairy, beef cake come sailing, or sliding, towards a group of humans, Gnomes or Dwarves. Extra points for destroying night elves.

In all seriousness though, I think it would need to be a ranged class as DK,s, DH,s and Monks are all melee. When was the last ranged class introduced? And, again, I have no idea what kind of magic they would use that isn’t already in use. Melee is easy to do, new strikes, kicks, eye gouges and new armor but ranged would be harder to do.

Party buffs would also be self buffs …kinda like in EQ and FF…they hold their own in solo content but are even better when buffing parties.

As for Necromancers, I tend to link these as I think both would be quite fun to play and are different enough from existing things to work.

I’ve been wanting a necromancer class as well.
I thought Tinker might have been a good way to go as well. Both could be fun and more variety is always good.
There’s never going to be perfect balance so letting the game stagnate in the hopes of it isn’t a wise choice.

I’d quite like a void spell casting heavy armor melee class too. There’s been a lot of cool new abilities made for the old god stuff that could be used for a class. Could even divide off shadow priest into it’s own class with some additional specs and then have both void and light based melee and caster classes.

I wish they’d make survival where you could equip both a ranged and and a couple melee weapons then maybe a “stance” toggle to switch to which set of weapons you wanna use. Could do only melee, all ranged, or a mix of both based on need. It’d be interesting. More like hunter used to be too.

Better than what I was thinking …a Romancer that uses Chloroform… O_O
BAD!!!

I kept thinking that’d be the DPS spec of a Tinker class with the Mech piloting tank and the dart gun and healer bots for healing.
Seemed like a good idea with the Island Expeditions groups and seemed to have a lot of inspiration from D.Va, Anna, and Torb form Overwatch.
Could be fun.

I’d like to see Unholy DKs has the single undead summon they’ve always had. Maybe two with the talent. Then all other summons come in the style of spirits that are contained in the Runeblade. Then let necromancers summon the physical undead. More of a flavor thing and one fitting of DKs as it’s something Arthas even does during the fight with him.
Necromancers could have Army of the Dead…DKs could have the same thing using spirits called something like Wails of the Damned.
Maybe even give a glyph to change it back for the people who don’t like the change…not gonna hurt anything. Variety and options are good.

I’ve also thought the idea of a DK having to focus on the summoning where a Necromancer focuses on buffing their undead would be a neat way of differentiating them. The Necro could passively raise the dead because it’s their whole schtick. Then those undead serve as their “auto attacks” and casting resource. Could power the base skeletons up into mages or knights and such…consume a few skeletons to cast a bone storm in a specific area or to create a golem…
They could be widely different (like the links above) or similar yet still kinda different.

I’m still bummed about that. I was stoked when I saw we were ressing Tirion…Having Tirion and Bolvar side by side would have been cool.

I’ve even thought having Necromancer as an opposite to Druids would be interesting.
Have some sort of tanking class, a lich/frost styled caster class, a undead summoning dps class maybe with some transforms, and then a blood magic healing class.
I’ve even liked the idea of a race like San’layn having full a full death and blood themed druid class.

I still like the idea of Earth Warden being an earth based shaman tanking spec. That’d be a neat way to go.

Could always set it up similar to the apparitions that Shadow Priests do but they come from a “turret” you place.

Torb even used to have scrap he collected that he used to make armor kits or some such in Overwatch. Destroying a turret could pop out little scrap items you pick up like the soul orbs a DH picks up. They could then be used to create new turrets or other abilities. Perhaps the scrap generates over time but picking up the items would add to it enabling faster cooldown. shrugs

The Goblin/Gnome tanks in the Island Expeditions crews have this, or at least the Goblin one does. A barrage of missiles come shooting out flying wildly then hitting the target. People had figured those crews were the basis for what would become a tinker class. Kinda bummed they weren’t. A customizable mech for tanking would have been neat.

Once the mech is destroyed the goblin/gnome hop out and run around dealing a little damage till they can summon a new one, pretty much the same as D.Va in Overwatch.

Agreed.
There’s an undead in the goblin island expedition crew…they seem to be kinda tinker inclined with all their weird stuff they make.
Draenei and Dwarves are another two that make sense. Maybe even Mag’har.

If there was an option for undead elves as a race, you could make a glyph for Dire Beast changing it to Dark Arrow…shoots an arrow and summons an undead to attack the target. Maybe even some other glyphs or a visual retheme for hunter for that specific race.

Space Goats=Draenei so yes!
(I can never remember how to spell it and as a sixties child I love their sexy space goats thing. Captain James T. Kirk would have loved 'em!)

Yes, Dwarves! Didn’t even think of them.

Have a feeling it will end up skewed to the Alliance.

They also kinda make me think of wingless gargoyles too.
I remembers YEARS ago following the initial development of Ultima X and liking the concept art for the gargoyles…a year ago or so I’d looked it up again and was thinking “Hey…look it’s winged Lightforged Draenei”
