Do we really have to start in Bastion?

Best way I’ve found to get myself through bastion without throwing up is buy a bunch of inky black potions.

Drown out all that light and power through the main quest as fast as possible

I love Bastion. I miss my stewards. Best NPC ever added to the game.

So, Threads of Fate isn’t totally gone, but you can’t use it if you’re not at least 60 I think? I’m trying to level a toon through Shadowlands, not even skipping the maw introduction. Bastion is beautiful, but oh my god it is unbearable to quest through. So why am I doing it? Because I want to play through the Ardenweald and Revendreth campaigns again, not the Night Fae and Venthyr campaigns, Ardenweald and Revendreth. However, you are required to quest through Bastion before you can go to Maldraxxus, which you then have to quest through to get access to Ardenweald, which you then have to quest through to get access to Revendreth.

Shadowlands is the only expansion that if you do the quests from the very beginning, your course is set. A product of Oribos Airport. If you go to Legion you can chose which zone to start in (although Suramar does have a minimum level so if your toon is low level you can’t start there). BFA technically if you’re starting at a low level you’re forced to do the zones in a certain order due to a level minimum like with Suramar, but if you start leveling in BFA at say level 40, you can chose to start in the zone that would be last chronologically.
