I feel TWW won’t be able to contain all the story content it tried to sell us. The beginning of expansion indicated we were going on a journey to the heart of the earth. We have a huge focus on Harranir and hidden rootland zone. The Hallowfall horizon has Beledar which is definitely a gateway to a new zone or raid. And now comes our pursuit of the Ethernals to another planet. We have 4 possible directions where we can go - bottom of the Coreway, Elun’ahir, Beleder and K’aresh, when we only have one major patch left, who will most likely focus on finding Dark heart.
Do you thking they really have a plan? Maybe Blizzard gonna dragging some of these topics over to the rest of the saga, although I doubt it. So what will happen to them, will they be reduced to a small minor patches or Blizzard simply throw them into the drawer of forgotten ideas?
The bottom of the Coreway either is the World Soul or at least is very close to the World Soul. Physically visiting a location like that really isn’t in the scope of TWW, imo. We’re going to do that in The Last Titan.
Beledar is - at the risk of sounding like a broken record - a big rock in the ceiling. It doesn’t need a whole patch dedicated to it. I’m sure we’ll revisit it, but it can easily be a sidestory, dungeon, or maybe the lead-in to K’aresh. Maybe the Ethereals will crack it open and suck the essence out of it and we chase them back to K’aresh to reclaim it, or something like that.
The “Rootlands” is the only genuine missing piece here, imo, but honestly I’m perfectly willing to let it stay missing. We’ve had enough Druidy nature places over the past two expansions to last a lifetime.
I honestly expect we won’t get “rootlands” until Midnight. The Haranir are a missing link between elf and troll, and would make a perfect allied/neutral race for the Elf Unity Party expansion. We’re going to Quel’thalas, but that just doesn’t feel like a big enough area for a full expac (Ghostland, Eversong… Isle of QD?), so you could slot in a pathway down to the Rootlands right there. Or IDK, make it the first major patch’s zone.
Sadly… my topic on whiplash between main plot and side plot being reversed shows that they have a track record of never carrying over any of these missing main plot threads to the next expansion from after Legion until today.
The Naaru teleporting an entire expedition through time and space with magic convincing them to protect Beledar using holy magic via a prophecy is not “just a big rock in the ceiling” …and it is intellectually insulting to be gaslit otherwise.
The launch patch included a plethora of quest chains identifying Beledar as related to the Light, and not “just a rock in the ceiling”. The original starter of this topic recognizes this and worries that there isn’t enough time to properly get any story fulfillment out of that if the only remaining story for War Within is going to be an Ethereal raid. Then someone tries to tell him that Beledar is “just a rock in the ceiling” which is clearly gaslighting anybody who played the launch patch quests for War Within as if they should believe they didn’t read or experience anything otherwise. I noticed and identified the impulse to gaslight us as being insulting. You claim that gaslight as a concept does not exist. You are then followed up by the meme retinue telling you about gaslighting being a thing. Either they lied, or you lied.
He would never do that constantly and consistently over the course of an entire thread while having his nose rubbed in the figurative dog doo of his delusion.
Now, I really do need to know right now if this will interfere with my duties as co-leader of S.C.O.F.F., the Secret Cabal Of Forum Friends, who have formed a clique, not a cabal, dedicated solely to antagonizing Radishis. Because my prior commitments might conflict.
I really do not know if the Worldsoul Saga has enough time to tie off all the plot threads mentioned, but I definitely know I do not have enough time to join another clique, NOT A CABAL, to make more roasted radishes.
We haven’t solved the problem of imminent obsolescence for the earthern who will all shut down eventually. Haven’t ventured to the rootlands which I hope is 11.2 but could very well be cut content (which would be an even greater loss imo than cut drust content in SL, because the rootlands was set up even in the post campaign missions during siren isles to be important.)
Haven’t dealt with the black blood. We see it all the time, it’s a problem, we know it’s a problem that’s getting worse, the goblins are actively making things worse with it, and it is much of the cause of many conflicts so far, but we’re kinda just like eh maybe we’ll do something about it maybe WE WON’T.
Nobody cares about the radiant song anymore they just care about xalatath. Nobody is curious that beledar and siren isles crystal sing a song and that magni did not hear the radiant song, nor is the radiant song described to be like any of magni’s visions from the world soul, AND orweyna goes to the shores of hallowfall to stare directly at beledar to recieve a vision and NOT the world soul? That the siren isles crystal sang a song that led Cyrces to defend it? The naga want siren isles crystal and the kobyss, cult of night, nerubians, and xalatath want beledar? I know 11.1.5 has us return to hallowfall to deal with the unfolding events there but to what extent idk and I’m somewhat almost maybe sure that it won’t answer all questions or resolve all the problems.
But a main problem that I see with any number of things they’ve set up here is that khazalgar exists in an isolated bubble. After tww is over and we’re off to silvermoon/qualthalas and karesh and stuff, are we ever gonna come back here and deal with any of that stuff? Probably not if I had to guess.
I suppose metzen said in “the last titan” we’ll be going to Ulduar in north rend for … a… thing? So maybe titan facilities will get revamped? Then maybe the crystals will come back into play somehow? Eonar planted elunahir so maybe rootlands will come back into play? or the manifold and earthern?
But what if they don’t? So all this stuff happened but then nothing actually happened
Incidentally the Radiant Song was heard on K’aresh when it was being destroyed so a Portal to Beledar was definitely opened at one point.
Furthermore the Harranir Goddess is the entity inside Beledar therefore she connects to all of that.
Therefore if Rootlands is the next Patch Zone of the Expansion then Beledar will be part of or connected to the Rootlands Zone while K’aresh will be part of or connected to the Beledar Zone.
If the Ethereal suck out all of the Void from Beledar denying it a chance to return the Black Blood to the Planet then Life will flood through the Portal denying the Shadow purchase.
https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Buried_Secrets_(Siren_Isle)#Notes makes it clear that N’Zoth had access to Beledar so the Night Phase could simply be N’Zoth using the Beledar to unleash the Black Blood onto the various other Crystals(Beledar’s crystals are described as similar to Azerite by Anduin while Velen describes Azerite as being similar to Naaru) in Silithus, Kul’Tiras, Zandalar and Darkshore(though not the one in Icecrown) to make them bleed the necessary ingredients for his release.
The discovery that the Azerite is not from Azeroth but from Light Crystals would change the whole plot as would the discovery that the Black Blood was from Beledar issued out by N’Zoth using it to force the Light Crystals to bleed.
As for The Last Titan: it will be the expansion that reveals that the World Soul is exactly where the War Within said it would be: at the bottom of the Coreway.
The Last Titan will be about exploring the Light Realms beneath Northrend and Silithus discovering there is no Titan inside them and that Zovaal and Magni were deceived before coming to the conclusion that we must go directly to the Coreway and lo and behold there is the World Soul.
Not much has happened of note aside from Dalaran getting destroyed, anduin getting his powers back, gallywix dying, and the plot device object getting stolen by the etherials.
