Do the horde and alliance stand a legitimate chance against a black empire resurgence event?

I think villains from space isn’t exclusively a Marvel and DC thing…

Thanks. That’s actually one of my Legion ones I came up with when I got the fancy tricorne hat from High Command. I was going through my mogs and accidentally changed to it so I thought “the hell with paying for that again” and kept it on lol.

But they are the most used in superheroes setting. Sword and Magic fantasy usually use more beings of another dimension or just horrible mega fauna

nzothers rise up

Keep in mind, the Elemental Lords are free and don’t want to serve the Old Gods this time.

Yassarj is down to a hail marry plan to not be dead dead.

Yogsaron is regenerating after we smashed his avatar.

C’thun was likely killed by Sargeras since he stabbed near where his prison is.

We’ve killed many of the remaining C’thraxi generals.

The mantid have a new queen who wasn’t raised by Old God council elders.

We thus can conclude any return of the Black Empire would be far weaker than the original since the Old Gods are in a far worse spot and the natives are far more developed this time.

I … have no idea? I guess it depends on what portions of the Black Empire actually return. Will it JUST be N’Zoth? Then it might be manageable.

But what about Xal? Well she’s a bit of a wild card atm. Yoggie? “Dead” … but active in Uldaur again to some degree as of Legion. Y’Shaarj? Thought to be dead, but according to the island expeditions the Black Goat is still kicking in some extremely weakened form. How about C’Thun? Unusually quiet since his presence in BoT and him having Med’an retconned out of his story. Though … if you talk to MOTHER while she doesn’t have any quests, she cryptically mentions another mysterious titan facility nearby that remains silent and you shouldn’t go there.

If we get a full on return of the Black Empire, then the ONLY thing that might save us is if MORE than one of those big buggers actually surface to duke it out for the World Soul. They might be working together to get themselves released atm, but no way in hell will they stay cooperative with eachother with a God Soul on the line once released. If they all start popping out of their sleep, the OG BfA might be our only real hope of survival (as they focus on eachother, and not us).

The Titan forged are still a major force and if the horde and alliance banded together utilizing dalaran the broken isles zandalar and jul tiras for their remoteness and distance from the prisons ( excluding n’zoth but I’d rather hold off a Naga onslaught than a faceless army) we might stand a chance to rebound but that’s pretty scarce

The Scourge: “Oh no! This Super Threatening enemy is overwhelming us and we stand no hope!!” -------> Takes a few initial losses ------> 1 hour later we start to utterly plow through enemy forces

The Iron Horde: “Oh no! This Super Threatening enemy is overwhelming us and we stand no hope!!” -------> Takes a few initial losses ------> 1 hour later we start to utterly plow through enemy forces

The Burning Legion: “Oh no! This Super Threatening enemy is overwhelming us and we stand no hope!!” -------> Takes a few initial losses ------> 1 hour later we start to utterly plow through enemy forces

I would honestly be surprised if Blizz broke away from this formula.

Lot of wierdly negative answers being thrown around here.

Of course we’d stand a chance. The Horde and Alliance collectively control most of the planet’s resources. Old God-aligned forces control a few bug hives on the fringes of the world and the Naga, who are about to be decapitated.

It’s difficult to see what kind of “resurgence” they might have that we wouldn’t crush easily.

What do we have that can stop army spawning mountains that cause madness when viewed?

Just because he failed doesn’t mean it was ‘for the lols’. He nearly succeeded.

Was cata really a failure? The aspects were left powerless, the shattering weakened the old god prisons, there is now a twilight dragon flight waiting to be used when ready, Wraithion was indirectly responsible for bringing the legion to azeroth , and exposing the world heart chamber. It also had the added benefit of taking deathwing out of the picture who was at this point becoming a liability we saw what happened in war of the ancients when he tried to claim the demon soul for himself Rather than allow the old gods to break their prison. So I’m not really seeing the loss with this

They aren’t currently in control of the world and a corrupted titan, as far as we know. You can call it a partial success if you would like. But the whole ‘Hour of Twilight’ was widely hyped up and used up a lot of forces. Not as a diversionary plan, but the meat and potatoes of their planning up to that point I don’t agree with the idea that Deathwing failing was at all their intent.

Deathwing was fully under the Old Gods by Cataclysm. That was 10,000 years after the War of the Ancients and was at best a lapse of control on his own end.

I guess we will have to see

There is speculation from the “level squish” Q&A in conjunction with possibility of a Black Empire expansion around the corner that we will be knocked down in power level. This seems likely with BfA’s “rental gear” design philosophy. We will certainly lose our HoA as we did our artifacts.

With all this in mind, I think next expansion our characters will be reduced greatly in power level and the factions will parallel that.

Make it so that when we ‘die’ we restart at ‘level 1’ at the beginning of the new expac and will then level to ten as per normal. Except now we have the silver dragon around our portrait like elite/rare mobs.

Well, yeah, because the players are more powerful that the entire rest of the Horde and Alliance.
