Do the Cosmic Forces use a Rock, Paper, Scissors system?

Pretty much title.

Void fears Death because it’s about finality, the end of possibility.

Light attacked Death in Revendreth because the Nathrezim tried to infiltrate the Light and for some reason, the Light forces were easily able to find out.

Arcane and Fel seem to be counters to each other?

Fel seems to be devastating to Life since Fel draws power from draining living things.

I’m sure this is an oversimplification, but I can’t help but notice the pattern.

Fel is the weakness of the Arcane
Arcane can easy contain Life
Life can absorb Light to become stronger
Light beats Death
Death counter Void
Void kills Fel creatures by accessing the twisting nether.

I think it works more or less like this if we follow this system

not quite:

The six primary pairs cancel eachother out in the sense one is not inherently better or stronger than the other:

  • void / light
  • death / life
  • arcane / fel

But there are noticeable interactions:

  • arcane/fel are the antithesis to life/death, demons do not die and arcane-reorigination (think King Mechagon) also leads to Not Life and not death
  • Light has been shown to be “strong” against Death and Fel, one could speculate per se that Void/Light both are strong against both other paris (Death/Life and Fel/Order)
  • Void is “scared” of Death; presumably Light is also scared of Death?

But beyond that, there’s been no clear details per se, especially within pairs

For me, I’d have it so:

  • Void/Light is strong against Arcane/Fel but weak against Life/Death
  • Arcane/Fel is strong against Life/Death but weak to Void/Light
  • Life/Death is strong against Void/Light but weak against Arcane/Fel

I don’t know that it’s true in lore, but it sure would make it easier to write. What do we think Blizzard values the most?

Easy solutions don’t always equal bad writing. I think it would balance the power level in an interesting way. We have a problem with a certain Force users, we’re quickly looking for a counter. Currently, 80% of the problems are solved only by Paladins and other champions of Light, leaving no chance for other classes/forces to shine.

How the greatest cosmic-allied villains were put down?
The Lich King was defeated by the Paladins.
The Legion by the Army of Light.
Now we’re throwing all Light users on the planet against Voidstorm.

So correct me if i’m wrong but the only times a force has been depicted as super effective against the other has been when sargearas killed the entire pantheon and when the light invaded revendreath.

  • throughout lore we see Light as supereffective against Death and Fel like I metnioned
