I just use Archon and watch Kalamazi.
Definitely get an adblocker. I get warnings every now and then from some shady ads.
Having an ad blocker is almost a requirement while browsing the internet nowadays. Every now and then Youtube’s like “stop that or else!” and I’m just like “lmao no” and that’s basically the end of it. There’s something incredibly satisfying about that for some reason.
I love when people go this route to trash Icy Veins when some/many of the writers ARE THE SAME PEOPLE! lol They’re posting THE EXACT SAME INFO.
Bottom line is that you use Wowhead/ IcyVeins/ anything else for world play, LFR, normal.
Once you start going beyond that, you need to spend more time in your class Discord. That’s the only place up-to-date and truly relevant info is going to be.
Thats why I do not use Wowhead at all anymore. My PC security caught a virus
trying to sneak in through one of their ads. If they cant bother to keep their ads
clean. I wont bother with them.
Their guides will vary by the author.
I’ve hit a few classic ones they left out a point.
PIck something to taste or wants then. Its not like leveling needs pristine talents set up lol.
I mean that’s fine if it’s the same people, but WoWhead seems to always be ahead itself and generally has a more invested layout for everything
Not all of us use discord. I’ve never had any issues with icy veins.
Icy is always out of date. I switched to wow head (despite all the freaking adds) and haven’t looked back since.
I generally find the icy-veins guide to be better.
(…there are still people not using ad blockers???)
2024, adblockers been a thing for idk 20 years or so. I have zero ads on Wowhead.
icy veins tends to slack and not update frequently enough eventually. at least that’s what i noticed back when i used it. wowhead is a bit more in touch with time.
Both Icy Veins and WowHead keep their builds up to date.
Both sites are currently out of date.
Do people still use Icy Veins guide?
I’ve been using CoPilot, the Windows AI. It’s nice because you can ask a question about various things in WoW and it will go find the answer for you. Also you don’t have ads constandtly smacked in your face and blocking the text like you do with sites like WoWPedia.
Just copy the top end guys specs from warcraftlogs and accept you’ll never be as good as them
It’s what I do
I pick Icy over WoWHead often if the Method guides are out of date. I compare the 2 as well and try to see what they were going for if they are doing something different. Usually though they fall in pretty close to one another. There are times where guides on both sites change things that make me go, “Uhhh, yeah no we’re not doing that”.
Don’t use leveling builds.
Use the m+ builds.
They give you the best survivability usually and solid aoe/single target hybrids for either questing or dungeon spamming.
Then you don’t have to bother with messing with much once you hit max.
Also don’t listen to the naysayers. I use icyveins as my main site. It’s fantastic.
ironic considering how many ads and popups are on wowhead
You can use IV as a starter build, same with WoWhead, you can tweak it with murlok and Archon/Subcreation. There are also starter builds built into the dropdown on the talents pane.
But all those sites are only partial information and not necessarily what will work best for you, and oftentimes they even feel like trolling without context.
Keep in mind talents you don’t use properly are dead talents.
Having said that, you can do those cookie cutters, but you should tweak them with your own knowledge, and Youtube/Rumble guides from credible players.
People are really bad at this game, missing the bare minimum level of performance in content more than ever. It’s because there is rarely any good information out there on how to play.
Blizz is catering to that common denominator that doesn’t care if they’re good or not.
This is the answer you should be looking for.
