I enjoy them when I do them.
arena is like roman gladiators in the coliseum.
epics are the legions out the battlefields doing formations and maneuvers.
epics are really not about the individual players skill at dueling another player, skills transfer, but a centurion and a gladiator are two completely different things, even though both wear armor, both use a sword, and both engage in combat.
if you are looking for the superior class play dueling, then epics are the wrong place, you are looking for arena.
As an alliance player who likes to win every now and then, I prefer epic BGs.

Works better on rogues because you can blind and sap.
You can get an insane amount of kills under the bridge in AV if it turns into a turtle.
I hope we dont ever get back the old ashran where each group focuses on something different and ignores pvp entirely.
That isn’t how old Ashran worked. PVP happened around events or direct confrontation towards events or pushing road.
Also Ashran doesn’t work as a map where there is constant conflict as we see currently. They could make it work but then they would have to change how the map is oriented.
That’s how old ashran ended up. It was more efficient to avoid eachother so that’s what they did.
That same argument can be used with Tol Borad which manifested the win trading that took place.
Old Ashran promoted group team play working toward objectives and opportunity costs. Push road or events? PVP now or build up momentum later for PVP?
As for avoiding PVP to be the most efficient course that was a choice some premades would make. But that requires hours of dedication to pull off. It was also poor honor/conquest per hour going through this approach anyways. Most other premades would walk in and just start dominating for best honor/conquest per hour and that often involved direct PVP as soon as possible to squash opposition fast.
Hell yea, I do not enjoy Wintergrasp but the others are great fun! I want Strand of The Ancients back too!

Ashran is kind of fun on a ranged char.
Isle is probably the “best” epic bg. Which isn’t saying much.
WG is complete and utter garbage, on either side. It’s so bad that it honestly brings down the entire group of epic bgs.
AV is just boring.
Can’t really say I enjoy them. The only time I like them is when gearing up a fresh char. Strictly because there is less PvP going on.
Not melee, we can’t even fight without getting 40v1d

Alliance has a slight edge at docks, Horde has a slight edge at hanger.
The point is that you’re supposed to take the worshop and use those vehicles to break up the glaives. Problem? Well, the fastest honor is to lose as fast as possible, so most Horde wont even try.
And AV actually favors Horde. It is just, again, a problem where by people prefer rushing the boss. If the Horde wanted to defend the iron triangle- IBGY / IBT / TP- they’d win every game unless they were dramatically out played because your average alliance player wants to behave like a bot but paradoxically hates the idea of doing those PVE objectives.
I feel like current AV is truly one of the best and most balanced versions in a very long time.
IOC is also fun to play lately. Could use to have the final boss HP upped a bit tho.
