OP doesn’t realize that the game data and systems are all downloaded PRIOR to launch now lol. So if there are any major issues requiring extended maintenance its taken care off BEFORE launch. Hence why we had a long maintenance for patch 10.0 and I will not be surprised if we do on Tuesday of this week, but when the expansion launches they literally just flip a switch making the content active on MONDAY the 28th lol.

I get November 15th off every year because its opening day of rifle hunting season, so the shop shuts down that day because SOO many people take if off / dont show up.
So on one hand, yay day off to play the new dracthyr, on the other, i know servers will be down ALL day because i have the day off. Yeppie lol
im likely taking a break for it. at least for 2 days
game will always have issues on launch days for a couple days as with any game. i enjoy launch days an it happens once in a few years so what difference does it make that i take off X amount of days to play then vs taking pto to pretty much do almost the same stuff another time?
got maintenance? okay fine i go do something else more productive, cook, clean, walk the dogs, grocery shopping, etc… i do save PTO for more important things such as vacation out of state or doctors but usually company if okay with taking days off for doctors and just switching my days off for that week to compensate so really im not losing out on anything. PTO for me is not stagnant either it’s based on long term employement and how many hours i work. 100 hours = 1 hour of pto that goes up the longer you stay with the company. i can make about 3 weeks a year since i do a lot of over time. 12 hours a day 5-7 days a week. only good side about being understaffed. lots of overtime if i want to work it. tons of downside though thats why i also like taking off to just relax it’s not just about Launch
Well seeing as I’m NSFW,I’m only planning to re create my dragon boi whenever severs up and then wait til Wed at least to try tonget anything done ither than creation.
Have done it for every expansion and never regretted it. Despite problems here and there I always get to play, and that opening launch day experience is worth it, glitches and all.
My reply to this is – to each their own. The Daddy (or mommy) knows best tone of telling presumably grown people how to spend their own time in concerns with a game is at the very least…weird.
While I’m not counting on playing tuesday, I’m guessing based on the 11 hour maintenance the first phase took, but at the same time I’m not going to tell anyone “don’t take off”.
I’m not their dad. Take off if you want don’t take off if you don’t want to.
Maybe you’ll get lucky and the maintenance will be done as they say 3 pm pst/6 pm est, maybe it won’t but that’s for “YOU” to decide.
