You’re right. What frustrates me is that Blizzard tries to balance around these 30 players, and not the other 99.999% of players in PvP.

And why exactly do you spend your time posting on a game forum that specializes in a game mode to trash talk said game mode?

/facepalm

it is though because when they released a version to bring people in that might not normally play it turned into an embarrassing mess, queue times would be nearly instant if it was actually a success

better than the 700 lb pig neck that lurks in solo queue all day and rides blizzs sack

Fighting another 8x r1 rdruid as we speak, this time at 1930 lobby mmr. Super good times

I think arenas are in a bit of a death spiral - participating in arenas is too highly correlated with being good at them. Normal players drop out, and the quality of the median arena player goes up.

In BC/WotLK, just having everything keybound, using CDs semi-appropriately and thoughtlessly shooting out focus CC was enough to get 1750. Now that won’t even get you to 1250.

It scares away new and returning players, and it pisses off active players. It looks like you’re slowly turning into a terrible player when the reality is the player base is just shrinking in a biased way (worst players out first).

I take it you didnt read the part where i was defending arena saying I wish it had a larger player pool, i guess you pick and choose what you read, and then put your take in as its trolling, when i was stating facts. But I do feel you are attacking me personally, and it is making me uncomfortable.

Remember how easy SL season 1 was? That is high participation. Need better incentive to bring fresh meat.

Legion was really good for participation as well. Fun times.

sure I will catch flack on this one, but short answer no not really, game is too complicated for the average player and unfun due to all the gameplay knowledge needed to even be mediocre let alone how fast people have been dying now since post bfa. The sheer number of pve’rs or casuals i’ve seen quit attempting pvp due to how unfun the game has been sine SL is telling.

and before someone jumps in to argue that they obviously weren’t that interested, these players usually try a few times during each new season to get into it to see if its changed but when they see it hasn’t they just stop.

I’m a normal healer and hardstuck at 1500 in solo queue. I just ended up switching back to the 3’s bracket since I get conquest much faster that way.

The amount of players that PvP and take PvP seriously gets smaller every expansion so it wouldn’t surprise me if 2100 is rank 1 territory

I definitely don’t, solo shuffle is the bomb. 2s and 3s can turn back into the team brackets they really are. I just need solo queue RBGs and I will be having fun in pvp forever.

Idk about that. Hard to determine WCM traffic but historically for niche hobby website it did really well from like tbc-cata.

Twitch & Youtube careers absolutely bodied it though. I was relatively involved in the community so i remember basicslly the exodus. I wont elabourate cause i could rant for a week about the fall of wcm lol.

Smash is actually a rather large game, but I get your point. Melee and Ult tournaments are usually in person but have pulled in the thousands at larger ones and have peaked over 100k views for some tournies.

Unfortunately, they do not. The WoW PvP community has been bastardized to the point that only streamers and no-lifers are able to compete. Once the multi-r1 gladiators get to the 2ks they get stuck waiting in queues for a looooooong time, so they begin rolling alts, that’s who we end up facing, we provide the entertainment for their streams.

They need to attach a hidden ELO to IP addresses and prevent gladiators from smurfing. That’s the only way you’ll see a healthy Arena system.

Arena has always been boring and sweaty AF to me, mostly full of angry and socially awkward neckbeards who can’t stand a single loss without going into meltdown

I use it solely as a Conquest Points generator and then bail as soon as capped to go enjoy BGs that allow for more variety and creativity

I’m sure a lot of people are the same & wouldn’t play it at all if it wasn’t the most efficient path to decent PvP gear

Where did you get this? Also why can’t I select my main? It’s only showing my classic characters on the forums

Gotta relog. Sometimes twice.

KENNIE! Where did you get that demographic though? That’s interesting.
