Do most classes have to eat/drink?

Lifetap then bandage.

There is also the Dark Pact talent.

If you’re serious about pvp then you’re an ORC rogue not an undead

Im 33. Character not updated.

Is your name tribal btw?

You’ll have to start keeping a few stacks of water come level 30 or so. Don’t bother with food on classes that can self-heal: too expensive.

I did see a spriest tearing it up in Felwood with some surprisingly quick mana regen. Never could I chain pull like that on a pally: at best, with rank 1 SoC, no judgments/HoJ’s aside from JoW on the target, I can get 3 mobs before I’m out of mana. This spriest, however, was easily doing twice that.

Pallies are slow as molasses to level no matter what you do; you either kill things quick and spend a lot of time drinking, or kill things slowly. The only class worse are warriors, because they lack the innate survivability.

And also bank-breaker. Can easily spend 4-5G just to afford enough drink to last a dungeon or solo grinding session. Worst part about dungeons is that you don’t always make that money back, whereas vendoring trash usually compensates in solo play. Having a mage in the group(that actually trained up their conjure water) is a godsend for any mana-user.

As a warrior you need level First Aid and fight enemies 2+ levels lower than you. I have basically no downtime this way.

If fighting same level mobs then make sure to pull one at a time and use bandages. I only need to eat every 10 minutes or so.

As a hunter I sometimes have to eat and drink. Usually I dont have to eat much because I just simply rely on my pet to take all the damage. And my mana isn’t usually an issue but sometimes I’ll have to stop and drink if I really need more mana to continue on.

It’s all very circumstantial.

Someone above said you have to eat and drink more the higher the level, but as a mage I find myself doing less. I’ve stacked intellect pretty well and I can burn 4 or 5 mobs before drinking depending on the level and the type.

As a rogue I ate around five-seven times when it was really NEEDED, but overall first aid and regen from spirit works nice as well.

It will get easier. If you have 3 mobs, let the VW tank one and keep the other 2 perma-feared and dotted up until they die. Use life tap liberally and carry healing pots as a backup.

Most classes need downtime. The amount varies between classes and even specs.

Warriors have the most downtime. That’s why I plan on giving any warrior I see a couple stacks of food (once I get the spell).

Meanwhile, Warlocks have the smallest need for downtime. They are very self-sufficient. But, they have to devote most of their bag space to soul shards.

nods in understanding

Leveling a warrior can be discouraging. Especially when you see other classes leveling with no problem.

I have nothing but respect for the player who chooses to play one.

Every class must eat and drink after every single pull. Welcome to classic, a nostalgic slog fest

Yes. Classes have to eat and drink. This is a normal thing in Classic lol.

But that just means you will have to drink for a longer time.

Not with Mage Armor and spirit boosting food. There are more ways to preserve mana at higher levels.

But more Intellect doesn’t improve your mana regen no?

Intellect gives you a larger mana pool allowing you to cast longer. But once you are OOM it takes longer to refill too.

Doesn’t mean I don’t also stack spirit. :sunglasses: More importantly, it doesn’t take that long to drink enough to get back in action. You’re talking like 5 to 10 seconds which is incomparable to being able to do four of five mobs before having to drink at all.

Ah
OK. Thought you meant you just stack Int.

Well that would just be crazy!

Depends on the class for sure. Hunters, locks, priests, druids and paladins (I think) spend next to no time eating or drinking. Warriors, rogues and shamans (I think) will have some occasional downtime. Mages need to drink, a lot, but at least they can AoE farm for really efficient use of their mana.
