I have never rolled a healer so i genuinely do not know. I just think it would be silly for a healer to have to kill the same amount of X as i do as a DPS
Short answer: No.
Long answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Lol…no they do not
No. The trade-off for doing less dps is that you’re basically immortal while questing.
Nope, same quests. I used to think a unique questing experience for healers would be interesting (and was kinda needed when I thought of it back in BC / WotLK), but now that we can have multiple specs, there’s really no reason to quest as a healer unless you just like having the sustain.
On that note, though, I do think a QOL tweak needs to be introduced where we can be out questing as DPS, but when our healer queue pops, it instantly respecs us when we enter the dungeon and doesn’t deplete our mana, and when we exit back out, it does the reverse.
No down time from spec swapping to heal a dungeon. I have literally queued DPS in Timewalking before because I didn’t want to be bothered with swapping and drinking twice. lol
Same hp but if you are healing or tanking you just pull 10 mobs at a time to do all the mobs at once, holy priest for example just mount up, round em up, spam holy nova
Dps kills 1 mob in 2 seconds, heal/tank kills 10 mobs in 20 seconds. It all works out!
A lot of people do quests out of their heal spec to avoid suffering too much
And then there’s prevoker, which can just burn things with the same powers used to heal - well before ruby adept was the meta I was already using almost entirely red flight powers for my regular prevo build which makes for a much more dpsy healer
You can’t really roll a healer. You can role a priest, druid, etc which has healer specs but they generally have other specs as well.
For example when I’m leveling a priest I use the shadow spec. Then I switch over to the holy spec to practice healing.
I run all the healers and I do not spec swap ever ever ever. Either my healer spec can do “it” or “it” doesn’t get done. No, we do not get separate quests, and yes, it does take me much longer to get things down & dead than my DPS toons.
The immortal bit above is hyperbole to me, tho. I do have to watch my health when running around in the open world. Sometimes I have been ganged up on by baddies and the fight went on for so long that I just let myself get killed so I can get on with my day.
Healers don’t even do less DPS than their DPS specs until like the 60-70s.
i met a friend a long time ago back in tanaris. i was a warrior. i could kill 2-3 things then i d have to sit down and eat food and blow through my gold.
my friend was a holy priest. she could slowly kill things but it would take a lifetime.
it was a fated meeting when we grouped to do quests and never separated again heh.
but to be short. healing gets no help and it was super worse back in classic/bc because blizzard wanted you to rough and tumble or to get in a group and mingle. nowadays the healer have a basic dps rotation that might even have aoe and such. its not a big deal to level as a tank or a healer compared to the far past back in classic.
Isn’t everybody basically immortal now?
This right here… leveling solo in open-world can be pretty slow in a heal-spec; better to use a DPS spec and just go heals in instanced content (maybe practice heal rotation on the healing dummies).
Same quests, just longer killing times.
i’m stupid and schizo psycho weird so i don’t respec on any of my characters and devote each character to a spec. probably why i only have 1 level 80 character and have nothing of interest done in most expansions. i am dumb don’t be like me
can I get a medium answer?
Medium answer: Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
We actually do get different quests! In one expansion pack, legion. That’s it lol. It’s only during our campaign too for our weapon.
That being said, whenever you get a quest that requires you to use a potion or a bandage on an ally to rescue them, we can just cast a healing spell and it’s much quicker.
there are a few of those “rescue an ally” quests where healing spells don’t work… those annoy me. i think they’re the older ones though.
A handful of quests, usually those with 0-100% progress bars that can be filled multiple ways, will let you kill enemies or heal allies (as in “if you have healing spells”, not “here’s an EZ-use bandage item any class can use”).
