Do any other Holy Priests miss Chakra's?

I do feel like the fact that you could macro them into oblivion isn’t a good argument for removing them. People can use addons to trivialize activities but they don’t just trivialize the activity baseline.

I’d argue if they didn’t like that the fantasy/balance was removed by macro’s, they should have made stances a macro-restricted function. Considering that this is a common argument about stances in general, I think they took the wrong route; remove the ability to modify stance via macro, instead of removing the stance.

I thought the mechanics were tedious and unnecessary, but having to spam casts you may not otherwise need to cast to reduce holy word cooldowns in the current system is probably just as bad of a mechanic. I always thought the holy words should just be on a fixed cooldown and not require chakras.

The problem with the mechanic was that when you were in a chakra, it didn’t feel like you were the master of that role, which I guess was the intent. It just felt like the rest of your kit was gimped because you were in the wrong chakra for that spell.

I did like the graphics, just not the mechanic.

Personally I don’t feel like this is uniquely distinct from choosing a Covenant, or choosing which Legendary to build/wear.

Blizzard has, to some extent, always made you “choose” what you were good at. This meant choosing not to be good at other aspects. At least chakra’s could be changed on the fly without too much work, you just needed to know what you needed to use ahead of time, which I liked because it required forethought.

That said I’m not saying I wouldn’t like them back and to have them see more fluid use, but I just liked the thematic of chakra’s, I liked the visual, and I really did like switching to different “modes” for different situations. I do have to agree that spamming casts to get Holy Words feels like it’s not a great mechanic, to me.

Though I suppose I should just be asking for real meaningful improvements at all. Holy just doesn’t feel amazing these days, and I’d take anything that would help. Chakras would make it more fun for me, but wouldn’t exactly help with feeling like little more than a wet tissue.

Oh no I think you miss my point, I preferred that to what we have today, simply because it allowed the spec to have baseline short cds that the new system tries to mimic through interactions that could never have worked due to mana, GCD, and casting restraints. So you never get a 10sec CD serenity outside of cds, and if you do, it’s a lot of flash heal spamming with good haste (on a spec that doesn’t favour haste) causing a huge dip in mana to emulate a feature you once had baseline. Also idc what they say since chakras removal holy’s single target output has never done the same % of someone’s health bar, from renew to flash, all just filler trash heals compared to the power houses they used to be.

You say they were powerhouses… but all the data from that time frame, positively, absolutely says the opposite. Holy’s healing was forever being sniped by… basically every other class but shaman. Must be rose colored glasses.

All of our throughput, except for Circle of Healing and HW:Serenity (which didn’t hit any harder than flash heal) , involved either long hardcasts, or HoTs. It didn’t work out that well for us.

i apologize i should have added “pvp” somewhere in that, i didnt care for pve back than nor do i really now to know the differences healers had between them in pve, but in pvp they were absolutely 100% better off and had far better healing. with 22% haste u got a instant shot of renew+ a tick instantly, used to be a spammable 40k heal+ higher chance at flash procs back than+ ur wombo combo mending/serenity + pw:s for filler + guardian/life swap as 2 basicly “u cant die till these 2 cds are gone” if u even needed them.

im assuming ur refering to pve, because of the “sniping” term and what not, and the thought that HW:Serenity did no more than flash heal is very false. the wombo combo made it 100% heal and if u tried mending/flash it wouldnt do nearly as much.

absolutely power houses within pvp

Edit: try to hold urself accountable for misunderstanding my post as well, because in my post right above it i refer only to pvp and am continuing off that in the second statement

Ah, OK. PvP has always had its set of conflicting requirements, and for whatever reason Blizzard has never fixed this and made the specs play differently.
