Disturbing lack of hit for melee

The problem is Hit items at 25/40 being BiS and not replaced until MC or later. Thats why we are seeing hit% on set bonuses and consumes.

We will probably start to see more hit% items come time phase 3 with the level 50 cap however in it’s level up raid as it will probably have gear better or equal to the standard 60 pre-raid bis.

The largest gain to dps is hit % when below cap. Giving melee pure hit is a massive damage increase to classes that already dominate in damage. Not smart or sustainable.

some people think of each phase as its own little mini endgame, but in reality its not really like that, we dont have full toolkit every phase so why have things like max defense for crushing blows and hit cap? the content is so easy its actually strange to me people need to go to such length to min max

I’m guessing that’s what’s interesting to them. But we’re all in the same situation, so it’s not like they’re going to be outpaced by someone who is hit capped when they’re not.

blizz is 100% leaving half the raid bleed/poison immune and expects us just to play mut/backstab. pain.

you will at 60 easily, no reason you need to be hit capped when were not even done with the leveling process, rogues are still doing just fine dps without it.

it’s less about DPS and more about preference really. It sucks to miss a kick, or a full combo point finishing move. It sort of removes skill by adding an RNG factor that just doesn’t “feel” right…if that makes any sense. I’m not the kind of person that cares about parses or that type of thing.

+weapon skill ALSO affects the amount of hit you need. It’s not so much +hit as much as it is -miss

with +5 its actually still 6% for mobs 2 levels higher.

+5 effectively treats you as being 1 level higher, so 9% of +3 becomes 6% of +2, and 6% of +2 becomes 5.5% of +1, which you still need 6% to cap on.

Seems to be a pretty common misconception, but the benefits of +5 weapon skill are not static at all, they change based on your target’s defense.
