"Dispelling the Affix is not my job. Bad healer." This is getting old

As a warlock, I switch to my imp on any boss fight that doesn’t have an interrupt. I wish out interrupt wasn’t tied to a pet. I would love to help my part more

This includes soothing with the succubus, and dispelling with the imp (siege of boralus last boss) too

the past 2 expansions have been absolutely brutal on healers

I feel like the heal game became ten times more difficult with the release of dragonflight. every boss absolutely clobbers your tank while spamming AOE attacks constantly

healing used to be much easier in general, now it’s oppressively difficult. am I the only one who thinks the role has only gotten more difficult with time? healing in legion was a cakewalk compared to war within.

Meanwhile the warrior from my guild tells me to not worry about dispelling him because as long as he can attack, he can heal it off himself. Guess there are 2 types of players lol

yah i keep hearing this but the issue often is that Imp Vic doens’t do enough healing if you’re already kinda lower than the initial tick to make much of a diff.

I’m mostly looking at the hybrids that could take the skil that helps them deal with their own affix (in pugs) and actively just choose not to…even when in groups where that’s a stupid idea.

BUt at the same time, I’m also sick of certain dps talents that have utlity being baked into trees where they dont belong. It would make more sense if those classes that are known to have those abillties (lust, countershot, misdirect, detox…etc) just be baseline for all specs.

100000000% this. Been saying it ever since they did it - “INTERRUPT DOES NOT BELONG ON THE TALENT TREE!!”

Devour is such a bad affix though. Adding another dispel requirement when there are dungeons that already have high priority dispels was such a bad idea. Dispel Devour and then someone gets targeted by something really bad that should be dispeled asap, but the dispel is on cooldown.

But yes, if you can dispel it, freaking do it at least on yourself.

I didn’t say it was complicated. It’s just better to not talent into your dispel as a warrior.

If someone tells me that during a mythic+ I’ll just leave the group.

I misunderstood. No need to talent into dispel. It just boggles my mind some players who decided to heal m+ complain about devour affix to heal through. It’s so easy to heal.

You can also just press healthstone when the affix is on you and instantly remove it, and then still keep your interrupt.

Devour requires 50% of your max hp to clear.

Healthstone is 25% of your max hp.

DK DPS can’t self-cleanse and self-heal. Unyielding Will is a bad talent because increased CD on AMS is bad and AMS is the best defensive for DK DPS. FDK clocked in with 8M HP and the healer has to heal 4.5M without dispel. The healer needs to dispel FDK ASAP otherwise the healer has to waste a lot of mana. The last boss in Necrotic Wake sends FDK and Havoc DH (can drink health pot if available) down, and the boss will get healed from the Devour affixes. The health pot won’t be enough for FDK because FDK needs 4.5M to heal and dispel the Devour affix. The last boss in Necrotic Wake should get a redesign, it’s a terrible boss.

`Start of every dungeon…

“Do you want me to kick adds or self dispel affix?”

Not that hard to discuss before the key goes in.

empowered healthstone does 55%

DK can pre AMS and not get the debuff at all
They can also use death strike

If anyone is expecting the healer to pure raw heal it every single time they’re dumber than a bag of potatoes.

It’s always going to be a mixture of self healing, dispelling and healing from everybody

You can pre AMS but you won’t get buff and it’s better to save AMS for better purposes. Death Strike is completely useless if DK DPS doesn’t take any damage

I thought the health debuff was 150%. Healthstones only heal for 35%

Could be wrong, but according to Wowhead it’s 47%.

People were clearing 8’s at like ilvl 600 weeks 1 and 2. Then the dungeons were nerfed, classes buffed. So regardless, dps and tanks should be minimizing their negative impacts on healers. People like you are why fewer and fewer people heal, which only hurts the game in the long run
