Dismiss pet and why Blizzard still hates Hunters. (In spite the amazing changes)

It was a solution to a problem that only kind of exists still. In long arena games pets do die from cleave in some comps.

I think a more elegant solution would be to not allow swaps if one pet was dead.

Bigger annoyance for me is when I have to dismiss to jump and we’ve got that tank whose feet are on fire…especially if its a run that Ive got to dismiss more than once.
Just annoying.
Dismiss should be instant…period.

Really ironic that a paladins weapon doesnt need to be cast or dismissed. lol.
or a mages staff. lol.
Why do hunters have a main source of damage need to be cast or take time to dismiss AT ALL?
The GCD and other limitations like every other class has is enough.

My question is why are Hunters the only ones with the cast time? UHDK and Locks have instant dismiss. Sure lock has to cast tp resummon, but fel domination makes it basically instant cast. They also get pet variety for different utility.

Just steal shaman tier lookalikes, you’ll be fine.

Lol sorry, I’ve been out for a while. I’ll shut up :man_shrugging:

I guess that does line up with every weapon is a hunter weapon.

Ok , I have a rather interesting idea: what if stealth pets triggered lone wolf and you did not have to dismiss? click on stealth Icon and POOF! Maybe cats would be more popular again?

Given Warlocks have a six second cast time to summon their pets, my heart bleeds for you, truly!

Dismiss timer has been a pita for years I will grant.

Why the hell you falling behind hunter? You can get asked this in classic.

Answer: would you prefer I pull half the dungeon down on us after we jump skip? Yeah…didn’t think so.

When I did retail I jsut lusted on last boss unless they asked/told otherwise.

fel domination has a 5 min cool down. I’d be fine with hunters getting insta dissmis pet if they removed the cool down for del domination

Blizzard hating hunters? Naaaah! Never!

(blizzard separating mend pet and revive pet to 2 separate buttons instead of being a situational button to heal if pet is alive or rez if pet is dead)

They would have condensed them, but it would have cost us a raid tier.

They were already condensed :sob:

They UNcondensed them a patch or 2 ago.

I thought they were, but it has been a while.

I wanna say 10.2 they separated their dual functionality.

I run a lot of keys so when my pet died, it was like cool. Rez.
Pet need heals, oh look its mend pet.

Had to rebind rez. Definitely makes it harder to notice if your pet is alive or not now :sob:

Also trying to comprehend why they made this change to begin with… oof

It doesn’t really add up, no. To say it’s baffling would be an understatement.

What is the comparison?

I played some warlock last season and rarely faced the need to demon weave, only in situations where we needed an extra interrupt. Warlock doesn’t face the same problem as hunter where one spec is designed around not having a pet. There are ways to spec that you are better off without a pet, but it’s not centered around the theme like Marks is. One could argue that Affliction is the petless spec, more of a Dark Mage trope.

I would be fine if part of the lone wolf only Marks gets the ability for instant dismiss. Because, they are the only ones who NEED it. As of right now I see it as lone wolf is dead and marks is better off with the pet. I’m going to hopefully get some time to test it this weekend to see if that is in fact true.
