Clearly based on the discussion in this thread;
- Dishonorable kills should have more of an impact.
- Make it flag you as a war criminal where you can be killed in WPvP by your own faction.
- Lowbies should also count as Dishonorable Kills.
Clearly based on the discussion in this thread;
Thatâs sounds great. Make the DHK even better.
Classic is not black or white, PvE or RP, PvP or RP. Things are mixed, because WoW (and specially classic) is a MMORPG.
May be you should go to join to some exclusive PvP game. I heard that Overwatch and LOL are pretty fun.
Go for it.
No, actually, WoW vanilla had segregated servers for those who wanted to do different things. RP, PVP, PVE.
Dkâs were added in to assuage the children that were whining about pvp happening in a game based around opposing faction preparing for war.
These werenât the majority of pvpers. These were greifers who would go around killing NPCs and camping the boat at Menethil Harbor or the roof at Duskwood.
You donât know what youâre talking about.
To take a phrase from the original forums, maybe Hello Kitty is more up your alley.
donât go killing that lv. 15 quest giver then
This would be super epic. I would love to gank level 8s on my own faction too.
Iâll do it
So? my point stand. WoW still a MMORPG. That segregation is not a rule that makes mandatory do only pvp on pvp realms, and the same for pve and RP realms. All those things still happen in every kind of server. That said, rules still the same for any kind of server.
Oh, i love this, you think you are a tough guy because you play PvP, and because of that you think that telling others to play Hello Kitty will hurt the feelings of other players. LOL⊠this is so typical and predictable. You made my day bro.
The only issue I have with DHK is that the wisps in Darnassus count as civilians and they have a health of a critter. My 5DHKs that I got in my time when DHK were around was from a magma totem killing them as they floated by while we raided Darnassus
Bull. Quest givers were never even tagged as DKâs. It was always some random single npc and the only thing dkâs ever did was encourage scumbags to grief their own faction by pulling them into an aoe. I wouldnât be surprised if 95% of all dks ever dished out made the person say âwtf, how did I get that?â.
I had a few DHKs that were just dumb.
There was a civilian NPC just outside of the zoram strand in Ashenvale that nearly all Horde would pass by to get to the FP/camp. The NPC wasnât part of a big Alliance hub, just some jacka** next to a little fire.
The worst offenders were the civilian NPCs INSIDE the Gnomeregan instance. Why are we in danger of DHKs inside a dungeon? iirc they were down by the washing machines for the grime-encrusted objects.
People in this thread talk about DHKs being a metric to punish people who are raiding towns or griefing opposing factions by killing their quest givers - Youâre giving Blizzard too much credit. The system was stupid.
It never really did.
I pvp? Nah. I dont. Classic hasnât been released yet.
I just donât need misguided crutches or handholding that end up doing more harm than good in the long run.
Dishonorable kills? I remember when i had a half million of those!
Hereâs the thing with dishonorable killsâŠ
The people who actually care about their pvp rank arenât doing wpvp because they canât afford to leave the tether of their battlemaster queu guy for long enough to get anywhere where world pvp is even possible.
The people who donât care about their rank (ie the ones who actually go out attacking towns and griefing) donât give a damn about getting a DHK or not.
The system does absolutely nothing useful but make more dedicated players, who might actually care about their pvp rank just avoid wpvp like the plague, out of fear of accidentally triggering a DHK,⊠which was INCREDIBLY punitive at higher pvp ranksâŠ
A guy in my OG vanilla guild got a SINGLE DHK between rank 13 and 14 and it set him back TWO WEEKS of grinding, all because some pooplord mage accidentally cleaved into a low level npc with frost nova.
so the only change they need to make is only the person attacking the civilian gets the dhk. no reason it should be shared by the raid.
Dishonorable kills are why Iâm not rolling on a pvp server. Itâll just destroy city raids, outpost raids, etc.
Anyone serious about getting to high ranks back in the days, could not take part in world pvp (raids and all) as the risk of getting dishonorable kills was too high and the penalty for just one dishonorable kill way to costly.
DHKs are a plague.
Have Blizz commented on whether they are being implemented into Classic or not?
The problem is that those NPCs were easily pulled into AOE and stuff and killed.
It happened then and will happen now.
They were in Vanilla. Theyâre in Classic.
