Even if your lazy and dont level it while you level it would only take you a couple hours once to max it, not hours EVERY week.

This is accurate.

Comparing lockpicking to other profs is rather silly based on this fact alone. The amount of time it takes to level up lockpicking is a far far less than normal professions.
