I reinstalled Friday night. I’ve played 2-3 hours since then with no dc’s but I don’t think that’s enough play time for me to say my game is working properly yet.
Was able to play most of Friday and most of yesterday without issue after deleting/reinstalling, then started crashing again. Most of that time without crashes was in Forbidden Reach, was able to do the whole Zskera Vault and a ton of rares and all the Dragonriding Races there. Also was able to get on alts and do the full Human and Orc Heritage armor questlines. As soon as I got back to Valdrakken or log into alts there or around other parts of the Dragon Isles, the crashes start.
Was nice while it lasted
I have been actively playing since launch on Tuesday, including 3 days of raiding, and never had a single issue. Mind you I was 100% only in DF zones. Today I went to go check out the zul’gurub crafting stuff and I am getting disconnects every time I go to an old world zone. Portal from Veld to Org? streaming error. Portal from Org to zuldazar for the quest? Streaming error. Staying in DF zones? No issue at all. So I think this helps maybe? Seems to only be non-dragonflight zones. At least for me.
Just some more info from my last post, I checked by logging in some alts all in Veldrakken and they are having no issues, but I have one toon I cannot log into at all, doesn’t even make it past loading screen who is in Zuldazar. Whomp.
The “Scan and Repair” option in Battle.net seems to have fixed the issue for me, it downloaded a 200MB patch and successfully installed on it’s own. I signed back into my Paladin and was able to run a random Dungeon on normal difficulty without getting disconnected.
Update: I played for over 2+ hours on my Shaman and no disconnects. I did some of the intro quests in the Forbidden Reach up to unlocking the Onyx Annulet, ran a mythic +7 dungeon (Shadowmoon Burial Grounds), and chased after a challenge in Shattrath City for this month’s Darkmoon Harlequin’s Bells transmog set item from the Trading Post.
There were no issues whatsoever in Orgrimmar. I looted the Darkmoon set from the chest and logged out.
I just experimented with deleting files/logs/etc in hope to resolve the issues, I stop getting ‘A streaming error’. So far removed files inside: (* is whatever drive your wow is installed in and there is no space in “_ retail _”)
- *:\World of Warcraft\ _ retail _\Cache\ADB\enUS
- *:\World of Warcraft\ _ retail _\Logs
- *:\World of Warcraft\ _ retail _\Error
I did all the steps including uninstall/reinstall. but that didn’t help
To be honest, everytime I attempted a full reinstall I wasn’t actually checking my files to make sure it was 100% gone. I suppose I just trusted when I hit “uninstall” it would actually remove all the files. Manually uninstalling each version of WoW I have from the bnet launcher still left my WoW folder with 80gigs of just… stuff? I’m completely wiping everything and trying an entirely new install to see if it fixes it.
I’ve had a few random dc’s since this patch however.
I’ve had my main on a flight path from Stormwind to Stranglethorn and am stuck in an infinite disconnect loop.
Finally have gone over 15 minutes of playing without disconnect.

Connection problem
Ticket Number: US90881946Status: AnsweredLast Update: 2 hours ago
Character stuck in Deepholm during the Doomhammer Maelstrom/Legion start quests. No flying option offered after DC’d during the dragonflight portion of the “Needlestick Beatdown” quest. I dropped quest but couldn’t survive the return on foot to repick quest. Terrain too steep for ground travel. Can you reset so I’m back at Therazane so I can restart quest? Or can you reset so I’m offered the dragon mount or air elemental again?

Support
Greetings, Thank you for your patience while we looked into your issue for you during this longer than normal wait time. Due to multiple product launches in short succession, we have a higher than normal ticket queue. We’re working as hard as we can to get this under control now. In an effort to get the majority of players assistance as quickly as possible, we wanted to send you an automated message which may help with this connection issue to prevent you from waiting too long to reach an agent. This is being sent due to the category that you submitted your ticket under, but if it does not describe your issue, please reopen the ticket with new copies of the files requested in the second half of the reply. For issues with latency, disconnections, rubberbanding, etc., we usually find that a few specific things cause the vast majority of problems. Either a connection issue is happening somewhere between the PC and our servers, security or windows permissions are blocking the game client from connecting properly, or something is fighting us for control of your network drivers or changing the path you take to the game servers. Our best tips for fixing this are listed at the article below. If the first set of steps don’t fix you up, click the expandable “carrot menu” for more advanced troubleshooting. https://battle.net/support/article/34791 This should help you resolve the problem, but if not, we’ll need some more information to help you identify the problem. First we’ll need newly created system files. PLEASE NOTE: our system automatically deletes files over a certain age, so including fresh files is critical to having the issue resolved as soon as possible. https://battle.net/support/article/12988 We will also need a connection test to the game servers. You want to run the test for about 10 minutes while the issue is actively happening. Please make sure to use the correct game IP address for the test when running this utility. You can get this information using the drop down towards the bottom of the article. (MTR - for Windows Users) https://battle.net/support/article/27780 (Pathping - for Mac users) https://battle.net/support/article/7871 If you attach these to your ticket and reply with any error messages you’re receiving when this problem happens, we can look for more options. We appreciate you once more for bearing with us during this launch. Should you need more help with this error, please don’t hesitate to reopen this ticket and someone will assist you as soon as humanly possible.
yes I did this too I combed through my entire computer to make sure there were no more WoW or Battle net files on it before reinstalling both! played for 3 hours no issues whatsoever! knock on wood and fingers crossed I didnt just jinx it for myself…
Seems like for myself anything old world is causing constant streaming error disconnects when I move.
I have had this issue since patch day like everyone else here. Despite multiple people saying a full uninstall then reinstall didn’t work for them, I tried it today and it worked for me.
im still having d/c issues.
flushed IP/DNS
restarted router
switched to full-screen windowed mode from windowed mode
played with and without addons
scanned & repaired game twice, came back with two updates
on beta bnet clinet
I have done everything that is suggested. restarted the router, changed ISP, uninstalled/reinstalled, and turned off all addons. I am still getting disconnected within seconds of logging in on a character. I am in the US, Eastern Tennessee.
Tried to repair and DC’d hearththing to Valdrakken. Next step tonight is to do full clean install and go through and delete all traces of Wow and Bnet.
I have reinstalled wow on my SSD previous to this mess so I probably have stuff from wow on my hard drive as well. This may be an over lapping issue with others as well I hope.
Will update with further DCs and any other info.
I have just read the ticket reply that Copperpenny posted. It looks to me that Blizz are shirking responsibility for these errors. For me to uninstall and reinstall would take a very long time as I have a slow internet.
I am so frustrated that I pay $20 AUS to play this game and just can’t. I have been playing since vanilla on the character and can’t see how suddenly it is my files that have broken the game!!!
Also I am not tech savvy and don’t understand a lot of the tech that is required to do what others have done. All I know is that until last Wednesday morning everything was runninf fine for me and now IT’S JUST RUNNING AT ALL. I just logged in and tried to fly out of Valdrakken and dc’ed after about 1 min. This really sucks and I wonder if I should just give up.
Just NOT running
I saved the variables they said to save and wiped the rest. Still getting random disconnects as before. Sometimes it may take half a second, or it may not happen for half an hour or more. Often happens while on a flight master trip. Recommendations like disable add-ons, reinstall, etc., don’t seem to have any effect.
To add: I sometimes get boxes with ? on them instead of AoE from enemies, or other object or texture issues
