Disclose the posts to the OFFENDER that break the rules

Apparently not, as the OP just claimed.

Which is why I stated a few posts up the OP is lying. The OP is looking for attention and nothing more.

Or, the rules have changed since we got the new moderation features?

I hardly doubt the OP is making a pretty frustrated thread over nothing.

This is an in game silence, not The forums.

The rules for the game was well as the forums haven’t changed though.

The reason I have trouble believing you over the OP, is if he was told the reason, why post at all?

No they really don’t when you get silenced it says nothing when you get a forum ban they do. I find it odd a forum ban they can tell you when you said, but a silence they can’t. If they avoid it because of “rules lawyering” then it should be the same for both. They don’t tell you why you got silenced because most of the time it is for the stupid crap. No one wants to hear they got silenced for saying the word nerd.

Ultimately, Blizzard is going to have to come to the realization that they are a business and cannot simply respond to a customers request for information by saying your appeal was denied and you cant ask any more questions. Perhaps a couple months without your money would reaffirm who is the one paying for something and therefore deserves at least a modicum of proper communication.
To those who are going to jump on this and laugh about how blizz wont care, you are very wrong. The subs are unfortunately down and if everyone who feels shafted unsubs for a little bit, blizz will either change or be forced to explain the loss of year over year revenue to its board. It would be nice if bliz got back to their customer focused roots.

Ok, thanks for the clarity on it. Somehow I missed that point being made.

I may need more coffee. :rainbow:

It may be different depending on the GM because some people have come to the forums to complain about their silence and actually quoted parts of their email where it tells them either what they said or which general topic to get the silence.

Which you of coarse have proof of? Calling them a liar without any seems a bit naive and fanboi-ish to me.

someone asked in a thread a bit ago what would it take for us to unsub from this game.
I think I just found it.

Start snowflaking out in here or in the game where we cant even talk without some heavy handed moderator pushing his pot belly neckbeard around just because he doesnt like the topic and yeah…I’ll unsub all three accounts faster than he can yell for ma to bring another pizza.

It’s not tyranny. It’s a gaming company. Your real life is not affected by this in any way. I’m not saying it was right, but you are most certainly pretending this is something that is important to your life, and it isn’t.

You know this already, but maybe you just don’t know that you know.

You paint a beautiful picture with words. Ever consider poetry?

I have to agree with the sentiment of this OP. I received a forum suspension a while back and I got the same result. I ended up tweeting to @BlizzardCS and they actually told me what it was that I had posted.

In regards to the response you got, I do feel like Blizzard is acting like an abusive relationship partner. The kind that punishes you and when you ask “What did I do wrong?” the answer is “Oh you know what you did!”

I will admit in a lot of cases what gets a lot of people silenced/suspended/etc. is pretty obvious. Racist, homophobic, sexist/mysogist language are obvious. Cursing and swearing are as well. But sometimes things aren’t. In my case, it was because I used the letters B and S together to refer to bull feces. Now in normal, everyday language this is considered acceptable. The Blizzard Moderator did not. How was I supposed to know? Yes, there is a rule about masking swear words to bypass the language filter. But I interpreted that as using things like special characters such as using ! to replace the i in the “s-word”.

The thing though is that there really does need to be some sort of standard which Blizzard needs to publish and all GMs/CMs/Mods need to follow. I like to use what I call the “FCC Standard” which is what can be said on broadcast television with a few more restrictions on swear words.

And they should never tell someone not to ask further questions. It’s one thing if you ask the same question over and over and over and they’ve already given a response. It’s a whole different story when you ask a question, get no answer, and then are told not to ask anymore.

This isn’t true. I was suspended once from the forums and they never sent an email.

let me guess…you were accused of 'trying to get around the censor", right?

Fake news syndrome!

I for one am glad to see that people are starting to see this forum ban/silence stuff is getting way out of hand.
