This post reads so much like someone trying to excuse their own failings. “The only people who care about performing more than the absolute barest minimum of their role are the tryhard sweatlords running 30+ keys because they don’t want to be bored” lol
No, it’s telling you most of the players don’t care to run 20+ level keystones. Dungeons aren’t fun. Affixes suck, regardless of the week because there are no good affixes like Encrypted anymore. If they took out 95-100% of these current affixes, excluding Tyrannical and Fortified, and put in many of the seasonal affixes from BFA and SL as regular affixes then it would be a 100% better experience playing dungeons. If you had to deal with Fortified, Encrypted and Reaping as your affixes, that would make most of the players very happy doing keys. Those last 2 are very fun and cool affixes alone, if you combined them? Hella good time. Blizzard just sucks at figuring out what affixes people want, and then giving them those affixes instead of garbage.
They could also keep a few of the current ones like Sanguine and modify Sanguine to where it leaves a pool and anything in it, friend or foe, could absorb it and it just has an absorption limit of like 10% of that mobs max hp or something, each second standing in it, per creature, takes off 1% of the absorption of the pool. Things like that would make that affix 100% better, yet we don’t see stuff like that.
Keys are fine to those who like doing them, but most players simply do keys just for gear. They log in, do a weekly key for the vault loot, then 2-4 raid bosses, maybe 3 more keys if that, and then they’re done on that toon for the week until vault or raid time.
My guild, for instance, like 4 of the people entirely like keys out of over 20 of them that don’t enjoy keys. The rest do keys simply because we told them they gotta complete 1 key per week to help the gearing process. I know of over 300 more guilds similar, too, where most of their members couldn’t care less about dungeons but only about the loot the dungeons have and the vault, that’s it. Many of the pugs when I pug into raids and I start chatting with people; same thing. Most people just don’t like keys. They put up with it for gearing purposes, but they don’t care or like to actually do them. The affixes are too terrible, half of them don’t like the fact it’s timer based, and then others just hate how snobby people get. Every key of every level below a 25 can easily be timed by every single spec in this game, all you have to do is stay alive and that’s it. Do damage, stay alive, you’ll time the key. Die and it’s over or most likely over. It’s really good for such lenient timers, but at the same time the dungeons ain’t too fun, the affixes are meh at best, and then add in how snobby people are about any and every little thing from classes they choose down to the specs, to the talents, the trinkets, CDs, and everything else and it’s like it’s a job without you being paid. That’s not fun for most people. They come to play this game to get away from work, not to do more of it, especially to not get paid for said work, too. They come to escape real life into this world and get away from their lives, yet snobby people keep trying to act like it’s a job and stuff, it ain’t unless you’re a streamer, dev or world first/MDI/TGP player.
Everything you just said has absolutely nothing to do with using your full kit and doing dps as a healer when the situation allows
There’s a clear choice here. I don’t even want to think about playing without season 3 tier.
(I really like the way it plays and I’ve wanted better Mindbender since BFA.)
I enjoyed the S2 tier set bonus a lot because you could just no brain keep Radiance up 100% of the time because it procced so often. It’s the best tier set for convenience and they should have just made it a talent choice.
Just in terms of raw power: the S3 one blows the S2 out of the water because of how much damage/healing it does. When you have Mindbender out you’re getting +25% increased damage, cleave from your Mindbender, double Smite damage, +45% increased healing on Shadow Spells (talented). and the Essence Devourer healing. And you can maintain a 40-50% uptime on this throughout an entire raid/dungeon fight.
It makes being able to blast through healing check fights a lot easier and Disc is also #2 on overall healer dps. Without that tier set bonus we’d need like a +15-20% dps/healing buff otherwise we’d be weak as heck.
i thought i had a stroke reading this
Yeah I have no faith in that promise after they’ve said this multiple times before and it hasn’t ever panned out. And your change wouldn’t really fix the problems at all. To actually fix them would require reworking/rebalancing all 3 talents below lenience as well as the AoW/Weal and Woe lines.
The problem isn’t just ‘oh we won’t have the CDR!’ it’s that we have a huge boost in that window from the tier set as well as significant CDR on it, and everything outside the window was simply not changed, despite spells that they are dependent on changing significantly.
Harsh Discipline does not feel nearly as good as S1/2, TE does not proc as often as S1/2, Expiation lost pretty much all its strength, and even penance isn’t very strong outside your scov window now.
Their rebalance more than likely is something close to what you said - make void summoner a tiny bit better, maybe modify the disc aura a bit to make a couple spells better baseline. But that would leave Disc in a very bad spot still.
If you don’t vote S2, you are confusing the rework power boost for season 3 tier. Instant cast, half cost application of atonement to your whole group is literally the BEST THING we’ve had all expansion. No one that actually plays Disc would vote for anything else. This poll is rigged by other healers that are tired of losing their spot in keys to disc priests.
and i thought i was the drunk priest on this forum
Season 1 all day !
if our current tier isnt baked into the shadow side “hero class” i will be surprised, with how crucial it feels to our current kit in pve.
I know people want to maximize the enjoyment of their game time, but it feels odd to see this level of intensity in a discussion about what is essentially a makeshift tier with no new raids or dungeons at the tail end of an xpac.
Yes, Blizz has said they will re-tune accordingly. That doesn’t mean a partial talent rework or anything similar. Yes, it’s possible that while it can be tuned well enough to be competitive a consequence will be that some spells will feel meh to use and other spells will feel better to use than in the previous tier, but that is the case every tier. We are living that right now, in the current tier.
The sky is not falling, nor is there a danger that it will.
For this specialization, in Season 4, I would like the bonuses (updated) from: Season 3.
Honestly the only good Choice here would Be to take S3, S1 is Kinda… Boring TBH.
S2 could work with our current Harsh Discipline changes but it just wont be enough, Having instant radiances is a no go for me, Its not even my Main healing when it comes to running Dungeons its normally 3rd place underneath PW:S for me… Due to the sheer fact i don’t cast Radiances as frequently as i needed to previous seasons so having those extra charges would Low-key be a waste
