I don’t have a ton of experience on raid oracle disc.
Honestly, just looking at numbers, Oracle disc should be significantly far behind Voidweaver in raid ramp style, because the way it heals doesn’t scale very well. Its atonement healing is generally much weaker than VW - and it gets reduced by 100% just by being in raid. At the very least, you can abuse having a whole lot of PW:R with bright pupil, insight and Clairvoyance. But it IS gonna be tough to hang with meta builds.
I didn’t give it too much thought (though I probably should try it on reclears, lol) but if I was going to play it I’d probably play more a ‘traditional healer.’ Than playing the ramp style, because Voidweaver will beat it on the ramp style by like 50%.
You can obviously full ramp for Uppies because it’s still a ridiculous amount of healing, but since you don’t have the bender+blast ramps, a lot of the rest of the fight you need to play more reactive.
Having not played it I obviously can’t be super confident in what I suggest (so take it with a grain of salt), but I’d basically play: CAQAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW4BMmZmlxYGY2mZZmZGzMzAAAAAAAAAAAwsYZ2w2MzgZhZbGzMGmtFohmZZGAzsgFKGz2AM2wC
Use my insights for PW:R more often during lighter damage, cast PW:S on CD, Cast offensive Penance on CD, Sfiend/Rapture when medium damage is going out, Uppies ramps for the heaviest damage.
I kept contrition in the build because you have it in yours - you can kind of play spot healer with that and use defensive penance instead of offensive. A bit of an annoying math problem but Contrition does less healing when you’ve got around 11 people atoned. So during light damage you can use it defensively in a spot healing way. If you can get full value out of healing penance it’s pretty good, but if you’re gonna overheal a lot, the offensive penance is better.
If you’re taking overloaded with Light, I’m fairly certain it smart heals and picks non-atoned targets to apply it to. So you only need to get 10 atonements out in a 20 man. You can do this with 2x radiance if you want. You could also do a rapture ramp with it, and it should be fairly easy to get 10 out with PW:S>Renew/FH>Renew/FH>PW:S etc before a mechanic.
As far as mind blast before uppies - sure. It’s for Schism though, as it doesn’t give uppies power of the dark side.
Yeah, this is somewhat true. Pretty much all healers this xpac are saving their cooldowns for the AoE damage and oracle isn’t an exception there. You need rapture/prem for the worst of it, usually.
If you’re oracle, Flash Heal is something you’ll be hitting more often, but it’s not ideal to be spamming it because it’s rather expensive. You generally shouldn’t lean on it unless people need the healing now, and PW:S should take priority on people taking heavy damage, but your flash heals reduce your PW:S cooldown, so if someone’s taking a lot of damage it’s fine to flash heal into your shield. You should be spamming Smite any time you can, as it reduces penance, too. But you’re not gonna see giant heals from Smite - it’s more maintenance healing. If the party’s lightly damaged and nothing is coming up, yeah you’re fine to not immediately top people off and spam smite instead (it also generates surge of light procs for free flash heals). With your tier set it will also feed into your next PW:S, so it’s worth casting a lot.
