How is expiation working for you? Is it chewing any mana having to reapply ptw? and the amount of mind blasts to make use of it
It’s not hearsay at all. Moadmoad has said so in his stream and played Beta a lot. He actually gets mad if you ask about it. He seems almost broken about it, and said he wanted to talk about disc about as much as ex-girlfriends. Lol.
Maybe you dont even know who Moad is, but if he says the healing is too weak, you can bet it is. My take on his take is that healing a 25 on a disc priest is probably like healing on a 30 for Evoker.
As for Evoker, it is pretty cool. I will be playing both priest and evoker, and maybe druid. The silly Spark of Ingenuity line of quests on alts and all of that garbage is really killing a lot of my play time though. I’d also like to have leveled my other healers, but this supposed “alt friendly” garbage is bullocks. Sigh.
I’ve been saying Expiation/Stolen Psyche is one of our better talents since the beginning. Nobody was taking it in beta, but it’s a very, very good combo. Honestly Jak’s “shadow disc” is really just having that carry it. I don’t think Shadow Covenant is really that good - but those two talents are extremely good.
You mention moad a lot, but you do realize that Jak, the guy who’s saying Disc is capable of these high level keys, is also generally top 10 early in each season, and has been rank 1 a few times.
Not to say nothing moad says has merit - he’s very smart, but great players even disagree.

How is it on the mana, and what sort of damage improvement is it. My other comment on it would be is in higher keys where you are chewing up that dot, and the need to reapply it. Would that then impact your mana.
I run stolen psyche but i dont mind blast all that often. Still in that old mind set of mind blast chewing mana i suppose. Will use it when i need bigger bursts of damage for healing
Yes mate. Ive played this toon since wrath, i remember when he mained it and went from pvp to keys. His view is certainly valid. I dont watch him anymore. I find him a little mean spirited versus jak who i prefer. Jak is more interested in helping priests and less into bagging them
Im an AH goblin. Got over 200m gold. I understand your gripe there. For once ive had to leave alts and gold making aside because of the effort required versus concentrating on this toon to get ready for raid
Mana’s not really a concern right now - but I’m playing without Scov and I’m pretty much always using Shadowfiend whenever I PI someone else - even if that fiend isn’t gonna do a ton of healing. I think the fix to SoL, as well as the increase to flash heal made dungeon mana way more manageable (unless you’re taking shadow cov, of course).
Generally can just Mind Blast → PTW if your PTW duration is running low. It puts out a buffed PTW and you can cleave off of it.
Right now I think the “best” build, as in best damage is to pretty much always take it and stolen psyche and use Mind Blast as a chunky heal. Basically, it looks like this:

is the best we’ve got I’m fairly certain. I know it sounds really wonky, but the real benefit of the new harsh discipline is that it no longer is anti-synergitic with contrition. Contrition’s healing is tuned very close to what it would do if you used it offensively, too - and your PW:S getting buffed by 65% is chunky. Exaltation+aegis makes rapture a very good CD, and if you ever feel you need it you can drop a point in revel in purity (it’s bugged anyway, and you won’t necessarily spread that much) for the exaltation point. You can spend your time Smiting for penance CD/HD and using defensive penance over and over and it’s actually a ton of healing.
The problem is our damage DIES for doing it.
Rife has done a video on it, that im watching now. His version of dark disc is different then mine since i dont run expiation OR mind bender etc. He is of the view of which i suspected that higher keys will sap your mana having to reapply ptw on adds that live longer then they are in mythic zero’s.
Manawise with the build im running i haven’t gotten below 30% so im happy with that. Im only getting 10k dps on a trash pack tho unless i want to holy nova spam. Healing seems fine.
Yeah, I’m thinking next week I’m going to try and run my HPS build and pull most my damage out of Holy Nova/words of the pious and dominate mind (there’s some sick mobs to MC right now), and see how that leaves me.
If I can do ~12k or so in my current 350 gear I’ll be happy and consider running it come M+ LOL
As i mentioned to Rife, ive burst 38k hps and average 10k dps on trash fights (prob 8k overall) but i have never dipped below 30% mana. No 15k dps average like Fawther up there 
My only comment on the aegis build, is how well will it do at higher lvls. Outside rapture i feel it lacks some punch. I would like it to be good but im not so sure
