Yes i learned that term on this forum and ive been laughing since! I was waiting to be able to use it please forgive my joke!
Bro don’t get discouraged because some no life neckbeards (who probably never touched a female) said mean things. Laugh at them and move on.
Facts are the game is harder now than it’s ever been. I’m an on and off veteran since vanilla and even in struggling with high end content. Content these days is made for the top sweatlords. It’s a bad direction to take the game. I know you’re talking about pvp, but toxic jerks are everywhere and remember most of these l33t players have no lives outside this virtual space.
“to get better” is such a weird advice, as this is just a game and not a competition or a job.
Playing WOW is about wasting spare time, to have some fun and to relax from the demanding real life people have.
Too many dont understand this and that is why they become toxic. The fault is not with the OP, its with the people he met, who obviously dont have a RL to spend their energy on, so they invest everything into a few pixels.
So, you’re not mad. You’re just let down? Honestly, that usually stings a bit more.
It would probably do me well if I learned to just tune out the toxicity so that I could keep enjoying the game as opposed to feeling like my only choice is to stop. My frustration has a lot to do with the game but maybe a little to do with me too. So maybe someday.
And like some people said, it’s fair to say I probably don’t actually suck, but to be really good requires more time and investment than most games and I’d need to invest in some areas outside of just playing (researching more strats/classes I’m not as familiar with) to get better.
Either way I appreciate the responses. It’s encouraging to be reminded that most people seem to be decent, even if the toxic ones are the loudest.
If you were walking down the street and some rando yelled abuse at you, you’d probably ignore it. Even if you didnt, you should.
Randos in a computer game are no different. Ignore.
Do more and practice more and you will get better.
Don’t believe them when they say you’re bad. There are alot of players now who get off on being complete richards to anyone they can.
I was in lfg, the two top heals died on the boss, I healed through it and also helped kill the boss. As people were rolling on loot, someone said I was garbage and needed to be kicked, because I was “low” on the meters.
So please, do not listen to their bs.
it’s getting old seeing people say this.
i don’t know why people think the forum is full of toxic trolls.
if you want advice on something, people are usually more than happy to step up and offer assistance.
sure, you WILL get the people posting from their classic toons with “GIT GUD” and other stupid junk, but all they’re doing is making themselves look foolish.
just remember… if those people were any good at the game, they’d be able to offer assistance instead of acting like the class clown who is starved for attention.
That’s a yikes from me.
Sounds like the game “World of Warcraft” might not be the game for you. Have you tried Swtor?
Solo shuffle is a completely different animal. It’s fast paced and the name of the game is the pick a kill target and go crazy. There’s a method to the madness and you have to be on the edge of your toes. My advice would be to watch some YouTube videos and if you’re afraid of the toxicity, the moment you get into a solo, disable chat completely. It will be better. Once you get decent at solo you’ll go back to BGs and wipe the floor with everyone. Keep going.
It’s likely either some spazzy twelve year old spouting nonsense, or it’s a neckbeard who couldn’t socialize to save their life.
Turn off chat, put it in another window, get the WIM addon/DBM/whatever to filter whispers and just play how you want to. Don’t worry about some rando on the internet, dogging on you.
/ignore and just work on getting better - it really is that simple. Saying you’ll quit a game you enjoy because of one solo shuffle experience isn’t a healthy mindset.
These people lead sad, lonely lives. I’m sorry that happened to you, but if you genuinely enjoy the game, don’t let a few losers ruin it for you.
We’re bringing racism into this?
to the OP…I feel this 100%. I am older now, been playing since Wrath and this game just feels like its not worth trying to jump into a group to do a dungeon or anything of late due to folks just bagging on everyone (Tanks and healers get it the worst).
Used to be folks would help others willingly (note not saying CARRY here) but its just gotten horrible of late. May hang up the WoW boots myself soon to be honest.
I’m assuming solo shuffle has mmr.
So if you suck, they kinda suck too.
Everybody was bad at some point, practice makes perfect.
Don’t stop playing because of those bimbos, turn it into motivation to improve.
Have we as people finally become so soft and sensitive that random internet ragers make us breakdown?
Not defending them, but at a certain point you simply just have to stop caring. Mute chat, turn on some tunes, stop caring about your rating and just enjoy yourself.
The more anxiety and emotions you let in and control you, the worse you’ll play, the less you’ll play, and you will not have fun
This works wonders.
