The change didn’t happen, and that’s good, but I think a lot of people are justifiably concerned that they think this is something that needs to be “fixed”.
I get that. What I am saying is - let’s ask why people want to power through content rather than play it. The answer may be in how Blizzard makes the leveling content more engaging (especially for alts). Or, to offer a max-level boost after a certain number of chars have reached max.
If you think 110-120 is slow dont play classic.
The initial response, really does feel that way doesn’t it?
There is some crazy disconnect from Blizzard here.
> They introduce a system for halting EXP.
> Players use it.
> Blizz tells them they are doing it wrong…
> ???
For an official response this just feels like a big F-U from Blizz to players who don’t play the game in the exact way Blizzard imagined it should be played.
Turning off EXP to speed up leveling other characters in no way breaks the games established rules. In fact, it’s perfectly inline (and often stated by the devs) that under the current system an Antorus geared 110 character out performing an Antorus/quest greens geared 116 is completely expected because of how the system of scaling/stats/and gear currently works. You developers are responsible for designing this completely absurd character progression de-progression situation we currently find ourselves in!
Even if 110 characters can be utilized for unintentionally faster leveling thanks to Blizz making various changes to how leveling works in recent expansions… maybe some of the changes Blizz made to leveling are the problem and not players turning EXP off at level 110.
Twinking is fun for the person who invested in the twink but at what cost to the rest of the player base? You don’t care no doubt, as you made the investment, you paid for the game and continue to pay your sub fees. Am I right? Well so does the rest of the people you come across in WoW. Twinking in PvP promotes bullying with the integration of xp off players into the xp on battle grounds and thats more harmful to the community than a few not being able to get “Over Powered”.
Farming old content isn’t halted at level cap. I’m not getting the argument there.
Fun detected. Hotfixxing fun out of the game.
On a more serious note how about you guys focus on something that actually matters for once? Like your declining sub numbers. Or pushing out the azerite armor fix faster than 8.2. Or literally anything that any player has actually voiced discontent with.
It doesn’t matter if they start listening. They’ve proven that they simply lack the aptitude to make good game design choices in the first place. No one who designed warfronts or Islands should be a game designer, it’s just not the job for them.
This is so true, and really a sad reflection on the current Blizzard game design direction. Oh well , its prob good to try other games and hobbies, might find something fun.
Farming old content is capped at 115 when legendary items stop working and you turn back into a slug.
So dealing with companies power leveling people for real life money isn’t a big deal? Or is it just not a big deal to you.
FUN DETECTED!
EXTERMINATE!
EXTERMINATE!
P.S. What is this BS where I am getting a box saying that it’s not complete sentences? What on earth are you people doing to your forums?
In classic leveling is actually fun though.
Yeah because auto attacking things to death was way more fun than current leveling.
the wanting to remain “Overpowered” isnt a sound argument. just because you cant use your 2 legendary items doesn’t mean you are cut off from experiencing old content. I still don’t get it.
Never once was companies being paid to power level mentioned. You got a source for what you just made up???
You must now know how to use google. Bots spam those advertisements in trade chat alllllll the time
Good thing I didn’t care about WoW till MoP and didn’t pick up the game till Legion.
If I cared about classic, would I even be talking about slow leveling? Of course I wouldn’t, glad we cleared that up.
Yeah pretty much all I do nowadays is farm. So if I can’t use my toons I made for farming the way I want to, then I really have no reason to continue playing this game. I’m glad they decided to actually listen for once instead of just doing whatever they want.
Leveling isn’t slow now and i really don’t understand how anyone could think it is.
I don’t want to get into the complexities of it on a thread not about it, but yea, it is, because you care about your progression on multiple vectors (gold, spells, professions, levels) and the mobs pose a threat that forces you to be engaged with the game in a way you aren’t now. It was a proper rpg.
New leveling is just mindlessly making your level number go up for no reason since everything scales to you anyway and you can’t be killed without pulling 6-7 mobs and you don’t care one bit about your gear or profs or gold when leveling.
