Disabling XP Gains on 110+ Characters

All the points have been made in the 472 other comments.

I’m just gonna say it from my perspective: leveling sucks past 111. The 1-110 leveling was fixed nicely, but everything scaled is weirdly out of whack. We find d workarounds and… You kill off every workaround. It’s a mess. I love so much about the game and all the things to do in it but the core mechanics that are necessary to experience almost all of that goodness you’ve got is mired in sludge and sinking.

I’ll make sure not to let the door hit me in the rump on January 13th, but once the central problems of leveling, scaling, and class mechanics fixed, I’ll happily be back. With bells on and gratitude.

They stated once, if everyone is mad at them, they know they need to change things. Pretty sure everyone is mad at them on this issue.

This is officially my first forum post ever… and I’m a vanilla original. Please don’t do this my 119 is the only reason I play wow anymore. Our community is massive with many active players. The time it takes to properly gear a 119 I think is basically unknown it’s hours and hours of Time walking dungeons. That being said when time walking rolls around that’s OUR Christmas. I love dungeon spamming with my friends. I will say this If blizz decides to implement these actions my sub will end for good. Please reconsider this… I will tell you nobody cares about some power leveler only YOU and for reasons unknown smh.

I am having a hard time understanding how top geared 110’s are helping their friends when the current content goes beyond that. Maybe if you all didn’t get the BfA expansion yet but xp off wouldnt be an issue then. i dont get it.

Well, good sir, that’s because they don’t.

Yeah, don’t care if you’re going to backpedal on this. The fact this was even brought up is more concerning about y’all’s uncanny desire to force players to behave as you want them to.

Your company does this every chance it gets, especially in the glitch/bug community that finds stupid things that have little to no impact on gameplay, as far as going to ban people for trivial things.

I really hate the way you try to manage the community.

I’m one of those people that is about half an expansion behind on everything - got sick at the beginning of Legion and was unable to play a lot. Still purchased BFA so I would be ready to go again - however, I’m still back in Legion trying to get those damned reputations for the “allied” races that you touted and I haven’t made it to any one of them yet. Not your fault, however, if I have to level all the way up to 120 in Legion and not BFA, whey did I buy it?

I’m really getting to be a bit cranky about this stuff since it seems like I have a plan to follow and keep getting shot in the behind every time I turn around. I’ve done some BfA content on the character I’ve been working for reps in Legion, so, that opens the door to playing BfA and start grinding out again on another character. I don’t know that I can handle much more of this.

All I can say is… typical blizzard. Ya’ll are killing your own game. Seems like everyday just gets worse and worse.

How about fixing leveling alts so players arent mind numbingly bored doing the same stuff for the X amount of time.

Thank You.
Please remember that there are many who enjoy playing the game in brackets other than 120, and that by ending 110/111-119 you end up hurting the very players who somehow still found a way to have fun (and still give you guys $$$) with the game even with if they really really dislike the current 120 situation.

I know people who turned it off at 100 and then again at 110 to work on pathfinder.

Admit it, ya’ll don’t want to let people work on pathfinder in old content, yet won’t let current content pathfinder complete and be retroactive to level 60 account wide.

Level scaling. I played BfA from launch and you reached level cap long before you finished the story let alone all of the quests in an area. Does that mean you cant continue and experience the content because you hit level cap?

Why is it so hard for players to do anything in this game besides the current mandated endgame content? Twinking and speedrunning IEs on my 111 fury warrior is the most fun i’ve had in islands this whole expansion. I don’t sell runs, I don’t powerlevel people, I just run around fast and get to feel overpowered in content that becomes inconsequential for anyone who hits 120. That’s it, it’s something I do when I’m letting off steam after playing my warlock main, which frankly is a real struggle to enjoy, thanks to persistent class design issues that have now lasted through all of beta, 6 months of live servers and a full content patch (?!?!). I don’t need to elaborate on this here, as you can’t swing a dead cat on the warlock discord or fan forums without people detailing the core problems at hand. You really can’t miss them, unless you don’t look for them at all.

Ever since BFA launched, finding unique ways to have fun in this game or discovering a new way to feel overpowered have been stamped out over and over. Timewalking BIS sets are dead. M+ key deleting is dead. Any azerite trait that accidentally offers some new, interesting way to play the game gets nerfed out of existence, because god forbid arcane mages evocate before their burn phase or whatever. Why even have non-BFA content? Just delete everything prior to BFA and ship it like that. Or is it because the main draw of MMOs is that they’re supposed to be a sandbox environment that you explore and test the limits of?

Can anyone imagine the current WoW/Blizzard leadership allowing things like twinking and out-of-bounds exploration existing, if there wasn’t a 10-year precedent for turning a blind eye to those things? Karazhan Crypts, GM Island, Pre-cata Old Ironforge or the Dun Morogh airstrip? There is no doubt in my mind that these would be patched out of existence if they happened to today’s game. I think most long-time players now understand that the devs are here to tell us exactly what the toys are and how to play with them, rather than taking a second, observing closely, and critically thinking about WHY people find these seemingly strange things so fun. Please figure it out already, we’re ready for you to listen.

ps delete shadow embrace, make nightfall %proc instead of rppm, buff drain soul, bring back soul swap, remove shadowfury’s cast time, bring back howl of terror, buff grimoire of sacrifice, buff seed of corruption and Sow the Seeds, cut darkglare’s dot extension in half, buff all dots and ua dispel damage, dont make all the dot talents compete on 1 row, remove contagion effect from ua, triple drain life’s healing, remove drain life and fear mana cost or increase base mana regen, give felguards a true interrupt so demo can be less burdensome in m+, and make unending resolve 2 minutes. there’s more but this post is long enough as it is

I got WoD pathfinder after hitting 110 in Legion. made things a lot easier and helped vastly when leveling alts in WoD content.

But this is in-game… the forums are a different monster entirely. Don’t get me started.

This is ridiculous! I, like many other players, have put a lot of time and money into my twink. Farming gear in MABT, using archaeology for the 300 iLevel trinkets, doing questlines/quests/dungeons to get the best Azerite pieces etc.

I boosted a hunter to 110 because I main a hunter and had no inclination to level another one the “old fashioned” way. I have over 200 hours played on my twink. Now thanks to Blizzard’s super half-a$$ed, lazy, can’t program worth a $h!t change, all that time and money I invested is gone.

I feel there is no real problem with Power Leveling players through dungeons or island expeditions. It made leveling faster, but not crazy fast. If blizzard really does want PL to not exist in game, they could have EASILY made it so any toon that had experience turned off could only queue for a dungeon and or and island expedition once every hour.

With this change I can no longer BG without gaining experience, nor can I world PVP. I twinked A LOT in BFA beta testing out warmode. During beta we were not allowed to turn off experience. Even being extremely careful, I ended up leveling halfway into 111 due to aggroing/killing NPCs while taking part in WPVP.

This change, this forcing us to play by their way or the highway, is the last straw for me. I will be un-subbing until Vanilla where I hope/pray/etc… that Blizzard gets Classic WOW right.
