DF PvP is super fun wdym

If it’s so fun, why is Arena and Rated BG dead? Everyone just spams solo shuffle.

Are you actually asking why solo q is more popular than team based gameplay?

Ease of access.

No they won’t. It just means successful PvP players will be tanks.

No I wasn’t asking that. You said PVP in DF was great and I countered by pointing out that Arena and Rated BGs (and BGs) are dead. If you think Solo Shuffle makes DF PVP ā€œgreat,ā€ you are entitled to that opinion. I’m sure Blizz will bring it to SoD soon enought.

The runes are only interesting in a PvP context.

Only half agree, since making everything super OP makes PvE boring.

Frankly I feel like the runs are a nice idea for PVE only game, but somehow they managed to do the Retail thing and forget to consider the whole of the game.

Buffing the two most OP PVP classes, mage and pally, is interesting how?

If these caps are actually going to last two months they’ll have plenty of time to tune it. Whether they can pull that off to anyone’s satisfaction remains to be seen. I do have my doubts.

It’s interesting, overall, because we haven’t done it yet. Most of us have enjoyed our share of Classic PvP and, having just experienced the 1-60, PvP-less leveling experience of Hardcore, a season built around the concept of leveling to a quick cap and then spending time PvPing with anachronistic powers sounds kind of interesting. Using these powers exclusively against a giant turtle or what have you, I personally don’t think is interesting. Using them against another player who has their own bag of dirty tricks, is.

You aren’t excited to see a lvl 60 hunter with +25% damage from no pet, multi shot that auto applies serpent sting and then chimera shot on top of it?

For those not in the know… Regular marks hunters at 60 can Aimed/Multi/Auto combo people 100-0 after MC tier… now give them 25% more damage, and a massive additional nuke to chain onto that and yeah they’re gonna drop people left and right.

Ditto warlocks being able to get shadow bolt ( a spell at 60 that can crit for over 5k self buffed in pvp) +40% crit rate (that’s in addition to the lock’s own 25-35%) and make it aoe around the target it hits. For reference, even if the 20 less damage downside where 20% less damage… You’re still talking about 20,000 damage in a single bolt, and upwards of 48,000 in a single global (sbolt +instant nightfall sbolt + sburn), spread among 5 targets (that’s also calling 5k the max bolt level when it’s not and only giving sburn credit for 4k damage when it can clear 4.5k)… People have no idea how nuts this is gonna get.

I’m telling you, playing WoW Ascension for the first time and just sitting in Orgrimmar looking through my talent book and spending hours theory crafting builds is such a cool thing. There’s just so much replay value and depth to be had that if they do this right I’d actually start PVPing again.

This makes no sense, there is no equivalent of SoD in retail at all.

yeah… not terribly excited for the design they’re leaning on at all… I feel like its lacking any ā€œVanillaā€ path forward and while I am certain its well intended is effectively taking ā€œvanillaā€ stuff and giving it the ā€œRetailā€ treatment.

So…just like Classic then?

As far as balancing, people just need to chill out and just play the game for fun. I don’t understand why players play Vanilla and then treat it like Retail…obsessing over every little thing. That’s how you end up with a completely dull, boring experience where nothing stands out or pops.

Long story short: you need to adjust your mentality. It’s a video game. Just have fun.

And I’m here for it. NOVEMBER 30th, HURRY THE HELL UP.

I missed the date. Nov 30th really?

Yup… End of the month.

If you want to learn about the new class roles and runes for each class (better than wow head since it actually tells you what slot they go in)

lvl cap is 25 to start… Still missing a ton of info yet though, apparently the runes are gonna be open world quested or something like that. I’m also told they can be hot swapped out of combat… And Ashenvale is going to turn into a weird open world AV… No beta or any testing for it though, so expect it to be kind of a mess on launch.

Yep. November 30th. Looking forward to being in Azeroth once again.

Yep basically 3 weeks away. I have no idea where we’re gonna get the runes the only thing they said was that it would be part of the discovery aspect of the game. so presumably the may be in quests, raids, world bosses or even professions? We don’t know.
