I’ll believe it when I see it. Blizz wanted yearly expacs at some point in the past.
They wouldn’t have bothered mentioning it if it was 2 month shorter.
I’m not counting on January 2026, their team aren’t really productive during the holidays.
They usually get back up to speed in February so my guess is early to mid March
Exactly. It’s not concrete. We may see TWW be 4 seasons and then after the squish with midnight and last titan being 18 months.
Based on?..
The literal roadmap of 2025?
https://www.wowhead.com/guide/world-of-warcraft-roadmap-2025#screenshots:abc:1
It’s set for Winter and it’s listed after 11.2.7.
Whatever comes after 11.2.7 is either a meme season or Midnight.
Given they restructured their development teams to work on multiple expac at once, Metzen commentaries about bringing them out sooner than what they’ve been doing and that it was reiterated in an interview later on.

Additionally, they wouldn’t slate to release an expac over or just before summer since they always get worse subscriptions numbers over these months since their player base seemingly have other better things to do.
It wouldn’t be a good business decision.
Likewise, you wouldn’t want the last titan to release in those months either 18months later.
So when you combined all these elements, it is likely the release of midnight will be what follows 11.2.7 and I would say in early-mid March. That means that an 18 month schedule would launch Last Titan in august of 2027, which lines up perfectly.
And it doesnr show anything concerning the release or pre-patch of Midnight.
Smartest thing for them to do is release a S4 to give housing an actual chance to be tested
Summer falls towards the end of a season when people have nothing left to do. For example, i dont see myself staying subbed for S3 because S2/S4 ends middle/end of summer.
Complete my goals, then enjoy the nice weather. Theres nothing in the game at the end of a season to hold players.
A new xpac in the middle of summer would be no different than any xpac release.
You just illustrated why they don’t do that…
As if somehow this company they didn’t consider these factors about when to launch a game.
You release the xpac early March or even late February, mid season lines up with the start of the summer then you launch S2 in august.
Last Titan on a 18 month fall at the end of summer 2027 as well.
Any other schedule kind of makes release at dubious points.
And it’s not to say no one release game during the summer, but if your game depends on the participation of a large scale of people to make it interesting, this is something you’ll want to consider as opposed to a game where progression isn’t necessarily linked to group play.
Yet christmas break doesnt take dangerously low subs or metrics either, which entirely contradicts the point youre trying to make.
Subs are month based. I can go camping/fishing for a week and still finish all of the the X.0 content in June
I can still go outside for 7 hours a day and still count towards MAU metrics by playing at night.
Which is what happens.
Or…24 month releases November/December like normal.
Until they give an actual timeline, im not gonna get my hopes up or expect anything. Even though i do agree with you that i think theyre running an 18 month xpac from here on out
They always release before Christmas, and people criticized them before as well when they launched to late in November for this exact reason.
Which is why they avoid doing that as much as they can.
Oh no not the overwhelming programming task of adding +9 to 5 lines of code. How will this billion dollar studio ever solve such a huge programming task. I mean where will they find the 5 seconds to do this? Its just too much they will basically have to rewrite the entire game from the ground up.
Also the irony of this response followed by trying to mock me with my own words while mispelling neuron is peak comedy, thanks.
Oh no not the overwhelming
Ah yes, mr arm chair programmer here. Got all the answers
The dinar system you want doesn’t work in a middle season. It only works at the end of an expansion where ilvl is trivialized in the face of gaining levels.
Common sense isn’t so common, but at least try to put a little thought into it all.
Imagine posting this when you’re getting free 6 item levels for doing nothing mid season. Then not referencing every time blizzard said they were going to model it after previous systems. Having the vendor in PTR, would have implemented it as is as a renown track reward without this stipulation but people complained. Then only after months of radio silence they bait and switch you.
said they were going to model it after previous systems
And y’all hurt your own feelings giving it your own twist.
They’re still modeled after previous systems. They’re just not done in the way you want, so you get all up in arms over it.
Then only after months of radio silence they bait and switch you.
There was no bait and switch. They mentioned dinars, and without any explanation on how they’d work, you gave it your own expectations.

These guys aren’t interested in the direction of the game. They just get off on stirring emotion on the forums. It’s a societal thing not a wow thing
But this is a middle season, with a competitive season coming after. Why do you think they’d give LFR folks a full set of Mythic gear going into the next season?
Gear doesn’t turn LFR folks into competitive players. If it did then great, more people to choose from.
No one in the competitive scene is worried about people getting free gear. Competition is based on skill not ilvl.
If anything keeping Dinars out of reach of M+ players mess the competitive scene for us up more, as we’re competing with Mythic raiders and the overpowered trinkets that raid tends to provide.
You sir are wrong.
If they are giving just one it doesn’t change anything

Go read this:
We’ve been closely following your feedback on our recent announcement of the upcoming Turbo Boost event. We understand that while most of the benefits of the event - such as double drop rate on Warbound-Until-Equipped gear from dungeons, or extra upgrade tiers available on all existing items - will be available immediately, the prospect of waiting three additional weeks to purchase select Liberation of Undermine items from Consultant Wrexxle is a frustrating one. In light of that, we’re changin…
It explains why they don’t wanna give too much free gear to too many players mid season

It doesn’t, as the power creep from a few select items is minimal
They’re still modeled after previous systems
In what way are these like shadowlands or DF systems?
In DF we moved off valor because Blizz decided rewards should actually be earned.
So like, there is precedent.

Some of the Gally trinkets are like a straight 2% overall gain. Maybe you think this is minimal, but 3% is regularly the number they use to tune classes up and down with.

3% per item too. X3 items. You could be looking at a straight 9% increase. Quite substantial.
