Did yall really go necrolord or venthyr?

As a resto/elem who only does a bit of m+ throughout the season and lfr (some normal as well), I went with venthyr because I found the ability simple to use, I like the transmogs (when I finally get them) and I like vampires. /shrug

“I live(d) my life in service to the elements/the spirits of my ancestors/my clan.” That’s at least how I shoe-horned my shaman into Kyrian. It’s a better fit, RP-ly, than Venthyr at the least.

I went Night Fae at first only because I enjoyed how they looked the best. It didn’t last long. I wasn’t using soulshape because Im used to using whost wolf (and staying in ghost wolf), and Fae Transfusion
 meh.

I switched to Venthyr, and wow. Door of shadows have been so so useful, even in silly situations when I’m a Vulpera and can’t get over a 2 feet fence.
Chain harvest feels amazing to use in Mythic. As Resto It’s the chain heal we should have. As Elemental I can help the healer without sacrificing dps.

As far as lore, I don’t try to fit it much into what covenant is more elemental. I see each ability as borrowed power, something else. I see my shaman as a tribe/nomad shaman, so incorporating some voodoo is not too far fetched. Also, the red stuff from venthyr is not blood, it’s anima, and the covenant is all about restoring the balance that it once had. Once I met the price I liked them much better.

I am pretty sure that Kyrian and Night Fae are also heavily undead based.

Not so much in PVE.

I know it makes me a bad shammy, but I went Kyrian. I don’t raid, and I’m about equally likely to dps as heal in M+. Kyrian was OK for both roles, even though not best. Vesper totem was also the only covenant ability I found fun while leveling.

Lastly, I just can’t bring myself to hang out with the aboms in Maldraxxus. I’d seriously rather bench my shammy than spend two years rolling around in green poo from decayed bodies.

Love Venethyr for my Enh shaman. Using Chain Harvest to get everyone back up to max HP in a M+ always gets a giggle out of me. Although, the huge jump in threat always gets the tank sweating hehe

Maldraxus aren’t the undead covenant, they’re the war covenant and soldiers of the shadowlands.

How does this work? Seems like necro is best for cleave?

How does it add anything to single target?

As elemental, I went Night Fae because I like the feel and aesthetics of the zone, mounts, and transmog. The channel ability is pretty nice for world quests. The animal form is not really something I care about too much because of Ghost Wolf. I almost went Kyrian, but my mage went that way.

I went Night Fae because I’m a Tauren and like the overall anesthetics.

I would really like to go Night Fae but Fae Transfusion is an absolutely terribly designed Shaman spell with tons of flaws for every spec and staggeringly little synergy with the rest of our abilities. Like at least give the heal a proper range for resto? That seems like the least they could do to make it pickable without being a dead button.

Meanwhile Primordial Wave for Resto has tons of synergy with basically everything from talents to leggos to just the basic shaman kit and Chain Harvest stacks with Maelstrom Weapon for Enh so is incredibly strong for them.

So basically I don’t get to choose the covenant I like the aesthetics from, AND if I play either of the specs I like (enh, resto) I will always have one or the other lacking a big punchy button. I’m not even talking about numbers (which are obviously good too) but having spell interaction also makes the spec more engaging and, obviously, fun to play.

Right now im actualy finding night fae to be very very strong for enhance with a mastery haste build. That and because transfusion is nature damage its just going to scale like crazy. 18k ele blasts are so much fun lol

It’s okay going Kyrian. It’s a decent covanent especially if you socket the vesper totem conduit. All covenants are close to each other: some just flow better or have a slight edge.

Yes I switched from Night Fae to Necrolord because I don’t want to get judged when trying to pug keys, but if Fae Transfusion gets buffed or reworked I am heading on back to Night Fae.

I went Night Fae and I don’t regret it. The covenant abilities work for me and the mog set is the best for mail. I think Fae Transfusion’s healing needs to be reworked and hope it will but it’s not a game changer for me.
