Did Void Elves really have to be Banished?

with the Sunwell being part Light, and used to power all the facilities of SMC, of course they do not want people dabbling with Void powers just loitering around.

most Blood Elven Priests are Holy, just like most undead priests are Shadow, and those that did choose to go fully Shadow were most likely banished from the city as well. Demon Hunters and Warlocks do not use Void Magic, they use Fel. the Warlocks are kept tucked away in a corner of a dark alley, and Demon Hunters don’t actually live in the city and probably rarely even visit. and the Fel doesn’t inherently clash with the Light the same way the Void does.

also the Void Elves were following the teachings of the greatest traitor the Blood Elves have ever seen, Dar’khan Drathir, and that was one of the reasons for their banishment. they also were zealots who refused to see that they could be swallowed up by the Void and would doom themselves thanks to their arrogance. the only reason the Void Elves are even a thing right now and not mindless void monstrosities is because Alleria coincidentally showed up along with the alliance player character. if she had been even a minute late they would have all been dead or converted.

No? Not sure where you got the notion that I have, not all blood elves are the same dude.

This interview occurred in 2005.
The story was retconned in 2007 to apply only to kaelthas blood elf followers and ransom individuals.
This is co firmed in game during the be starting area along with an explanation by magister duskwither and the arcane torrent quests.

This is again confirmed in blood of the highborne, and I believe thenblood elf chapter in chronicles 3.

This is further confirmed by mick neilsen in 2014 where he stated the majority of blood elves did not feed on fel.

Chris metzen did originally state this, but it was prior tk the retconned lore and new entries into the encyclopedia. So it can no longer be considered canon.

Void Elves were an attempt to balance factions and it failed.

The void elves out-emo’d the blood elves and therefore they had to go.

Yes it is.

“Its surface blazes bright, masking shadows below.”

It isnt, because the thalassian race is directly connected to it. If the sunwell was corrupted or tainted it would immediately affect them.
Just as it began to affect them when it was tainted with necrotic energy.

This can reference the naaru who can be corrupted.

It can reference any good character who is evil.
It could reference silithus who surface burns bright but the darkness is the sargeras sword buried in it.

You’re right, they needed to be executed. Banishment was obviously too merciful, as it allowed you all to go to the Alliance. After admitting Rommath was right.

It doesn’t matter, the BE’s can worship their pool of broken dreams and lost opportunities, we’ve moved on!

It’s surface blazes bright. None of that is evidence against.

Oh, because I went back to the thread to get the video and you happened to be one of the people commenting on it. It has nothing to do with all blood elves being the same, lol.

Yes, we’ve already covered that, if you actually read other replies in this very thread. Though it is funny that in that other thread this video was your “proof”, but now it’s “oh that was 2005, it’s no longer valid”. Quite funny, indeed.

It quite literally is evidence. If the sunwell was tainted, it would be shown in the blood elves.
Not sure why you are refusing to acknowledge this part of the lore.

I dont keep track of all the times I have had to correct you Airc. If i changes my rsponse feel free to point it out.

It isnt the fact it is from 2005. Its because it was retconned dude.

Except it wouldn’t.

How convenient. You only accept retcons when it backs your own biases, but ignore others when presented. That’s why I stopped responding to you in the other thread, and why I’m going to stop responding to you here.

Feel free to point out retcons I have ignored. Otherwise, you are just talking nonsense because you are unhappy I demonstrated your assertion was false.

Except it would, and the lore has demonstrated it would twice, and the devs stated the thalassian elves are connected. So…yeah…

Not like the nightborne recruitement thing happened.

It’s a waste of time to analyze Void Elf lore.

yes, they’re gross

Except again, it’s not, Veressa ‘s eyes are still blue. As are many. It’s not “linked.” Keep your headcanon our of this.

Yep, they didn’t need to.

Yep, they could’ve.

Yep

Yep, I doubt it as well.

Yep

Yep

Nope

Yep

YEP!!!

And, yep.

Basically, they wanted to give the Alliance a Thalassian elf as a compromise for giving the Horde Nightborne. Instead of giving us High Elves, they went and gave us voided Blood Elves - and this is the story they came up with. Would’ve been much easier to explain a conflict between Blood Elves and High Elves and Alleria fudging it up and accidentally turning a massive group of both High Elves and Blood Elves into Void Elves.
