Did people want BC back?

I wouldnt be surprised if Cata classic comes out but I would be if it goes any further. If retail is any indication, people crave for flying and cataclysm was the expansion that opened it up nearly everywhere.

Transfer over what?

People also loved Mists. But it really depends on how long this game goes. I mean, we’re looking at around 6 years from now. So who knows what we’ll get! :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s only $15 to copy now.

It’s free to go from Classic to BC or to stay in Classic. It only costs if you want your character in both versions.

What character?

I guess some confusion was introduced because I quoted the wrong dollar amount. I don’t want to pay 40$ to be able to play just Burning Crusade.

So you are complaining and you don’t even know what the process is?
You can either keep your character on Classic (for free), transfer your character to a BC server (also free), or pay a fee (apparently only $15 now) and have copies of your character on both Classic & BC servers.

My guess is they’re talking about the boost because they don’t want to level through the Vanilla zones.

I believe he’s stating he feels the boost @ $40.00 is what he doesn’t want to pay. Just a miscommunication.

Okay, so I guess I need to say this straight forwardly - I didn’t play Classic. I don’t want to level through Vanilla. I just want to play Burning Crusade. The surveys they sent out talked about “free character boosts”. That never materialized because I guess they realized they could make big $$$ of those boosts unfortunately.

As I said, I enjoy BC but if I can’t just play what I want to play, I’m not going to be price-gouged by Blizzard. Still will remain in my heart my favorite expansion but I’m not going to jump through hoops, either in terms of money or time (and time is money) just to be able to engage content I engaged more than a decade ago.

That was my initial hope when they announced Classic too, but based on the way that things have gone so far, I just don’t see them going out on a limb like that.

'Twould be nice to see them attempt something like that though, imo.

Then don’t play?

I really want Wrath or MOP back but BC so far is better than BFA *played classic more than I could stand it and only subbed up for classic when they announced BC (didn’t buy SL) and I did play BC and Vanilla the first time around too and still find it more interesting (technically it’s still classic with BC talents and races the portal has not opened yet)

There were a lot of requests for BC and/or Classic+. I transferred over my Warrior for Classic, and will likely transfer her to Wrath eventually too. Also leveling a Hunter during the prepatch while I wait on 9.1.

Any character. If you have one on Classic right now, the first time you log in, you’ll be given a choice to be on BC servers or move to Classic servers. That’s free. Even for new characters.

If you want to boost to 59 (which you can only do once), you pay $35.

If you want your character on both Classic and BC servers, you pay $15 to clone.

Obviously folks do. I mean BC private servers still pop up all the time. Heck Legion private servers are now a thing. Google has been known to be wrong on occasion though

This is true. And yes, it sucks. Especially since it’s only one boost that you can have. But I guess there was also enough outrage over the boosts that they made this decision, as well.

People are still screaming that you can boost at all.

Yeah, this is correct. There was a vocal group of people calling for TBC.

It’s a fun experience, and it’s free so people should give it a shot.

I’m not going to.

My point though is moreso in saying “Just because I won’t play BCC doesn’t mean I didn’t want BC back”. I just don’t like the way they’re implementing/monetizing it.

To be fair, it could be worse. It could be infinite boosts.

Look at it more like a server transfer. The monetization model isn’t really different from Blizzards other services.
