Did Legion have this much complaining early on?

They all did.

In TBC druids were too overpowered, mobs hit like a truck, why would you roll warrior when hybrids tank better, blah, blah, blah.

Next was wotlk, whats the point on mana regen, how come healers can out live my dps in pvp, please disallow fear it keeps running me in walls and makes me fall through the earth [not just in warsong gulch but in the open world too].

blah blah blah, all of them had this much complaining, all of them had some things fixed, and some things not.

sadly they delayed this one promising to work though all of this before the released it if we waited another month or so. LIES.

Bfa was Legion -0.5.

It had over 10x fold the amount of complain due AP farm and leggo rng.

Legion early on it was legionaries and the safety catch being bugged and giving more legionaries to those that already had them.

People REEE’d hard at BFA early on, warfront delays, epic world quests giving one faction a weapon while the other faction got order resources, the war story being drip fed like the cov stories

EVERY expansion since I started has been like this.

Cata: heroic dungeons are too hard
MoP: we want talent trees back, dailies are bad
etc.

BfA didn’t have a ton of complaints early on. It took a bit for people to find out just how annoying it was in the long-term. Of course, it really made up for that later!

I wasn’t there for Legion but from what I have been told a lot of stuff what released in drips and drabs.

Yes. Yes it did.

I knew someone with three warriors in Legion specifically because of the hilarious Legendary system.

The plan was to play all three until one got the legendary of choice then just play that one.

That said, I prefer opening all the treasures because your BiS Legendary might be in a cave somewhere along with 25AP and a grey vendor item to SL Legendary crafting.

There were some complaints.

But no, not this many. Legion was a solid expac from the get go.

bfa had tons of complaints early on, there were daily threads on how hard it was to kill more than 2 mobs, the existence of azerite, the grind for rep to get allied races, no flying, war campaign being time gated, war mode

LOL, yes there were. And there are always are.

Legion rewarded your time a lot more generously than SL.

No.

Their really weren’t.

I quit Legion about 6 weeks in. The grind was large and obvious…Never went back during that Xpac.

Played about 6 weeks into BFA and quit, came back about a month before Shadowlands…

Blizzard has a tough time keeping me around.

Company seems focused on penalty based design instead of fun engaging gameplay… between the time gates and low loot drop rates in PvE this is going to be a 100 percent PvP expac for me…

That said if they leave PvP gearing alone and don’t nerf it rather than fixing PvE I might stick around…I like the Covenant themes alot.

Dude people complained sooooooo hard about legendaries in legion it was unreal. Also did we all forget the HUGE timegate for the elf city (I can’t even remember the name). Legion had some interesting story for sure, but people complained just as much. And don’t even get me started on pvp.

All expansions have some complaints but I’ve never seen the volume and intensity of complaints that SL has engendered, it’s truly staggering. As I said, BfA has inspired lots of hate but SL looks to be even worse. Of course, there are always those who will love the content too.
