I’ve never understood the casual angle when requests like this are made. Why you ask? That’s a real good question, let me break it down for you.
Casual previously complained that they wanted no timer, but difficulty. We finally got that.
Casual players complained about wanting more powerful gear, well technically you got that.
Casual players still “complaining” because they want powerful gear again and it’s as if nothing has changed. I am casual too and I realize the difference between maybe pushing a bit to get better rewards and not doing anything at all and expecting better rewards.
a +5 is not difficult if you have the gear for it, if you don’t, well guess what, you’re not ready for the content yet and you should CASUALLY obtain it. Wanting it all faster and more powerful than before is not a casual mindset and that needs to end now.
If you can’t do the content because it’s too hard then you don’t need the gear… I mean if you can’t do a +2 then what do you need gear for? Questing and pet battles?

LFR or heroic dungeon x3 in the vault gets you 6 vault tokens which is 3 aspects crests
I didn’t realize that was an activity in World of Warcraft, nor that it gave currency and/or gear.
So you make your own key, invite 4 people to carry you and get the loot they don’t need.

Yup try that a few times on my warlock around 490 one other dps apply and sat there waiting for over 30min before I logoff. Host another key on my hunter 512ilvl and instantly is flooded with people applying

I think you’ve misunderstood.
The person with the KEY that’s pushing +2/3/4 duns are accepting players with 500+ ilvl with 2k+ IO OVER players who are low IO pushing those keys the same way because for the person with the key, it’s a done deal. I really don’t think they are looking for a “carry” since by now majority of players understand why high ilvl + IO players are wanting to run low M+ keys, mainly for Crest farming. They know players with 500+ ilvl won’t need +2/3/4 end of dungeon loot and sure, they could pass that loot over to ppl who need it (which I usually do if I don’t need it and offer up grp members to roll on it) so, it’s a win/win situation for everyone.
PROS:
- Low IO players pushing low keys = get carried =/= loot
- High IO player farming low keys = carry + easy crest farm
CON:
- Low IO + ilvl players who are pushing same low keys will be not accepted due to higher IO players signing up.

Every change caters to the forum fanboys who come in to defend it … when any normal player makes a legit complaint.
Check out the ilvl of most of the commenters - system works great if you’re leet and already grossly overgeared for the content. If not … there’s nothing to do. Unless you can get in keys you can’t get past 502 and … you ain’t getting into any keys as 502.
2 choices for normal players who liked M+, which was way better every previous season - roll healer/tank or quit. I know I’m choosing the latter and I suspect a ton will as well … leading to some pretty terrible numbers for this last season.

This character is 480 and last night I had over 100 applications to my group in less than 5 minutes (it wont let me link a picture)
Having different crest types is actually unnecessary. Just limit upgrade ranks depending on where the piece drops from. For example, bullion gear is 1/12, just make LFR gear 1/4, normal 5/8, heroic 9/12, mythic 12/14. Also delete flightstones.
I also did that on my warlock ilvl 486 I think host my own group for M0 30mins only 1 dps apply I try to host a AA and RLP yup no one apply expect a ilvl 465 dps. Try it on my WW monk almost same ilvl again no one apply. Post another M0 on my guaridan druid ilvl 485 tons of people apply.
So yea in my experience if you are a low ilvl DPS even hosting your own group one will is going to bat an eye.
I feel like healer is really lacking this season even for low keys to +10 there is always a long wait for healers (15+ min). When i tank for low keys I happy to invite any healer that apply just since they are too rare. Even had a 465 MW monk apply and I took him right away for my m0 since we waited over 10mins for a healer. In what ways can blizzard make healing live easier and get more people to play?

You can get these crests from taking coins from the Great Vault instead of loot, so…unless you really, really need what’s in the vault (chances are pretty decent that you won’t lol) there’s a pretty simple solution here.
