I’ll agree, my rogue can manage a lot of the Horrific Visions with greater ease than other classes. Save for obvious bottlenecks, I can avoid a LOT of fights and speed through areas.
So yeah, claiming its easy on a class that can pretty much skip entire packs of enemies … doesn’t really help. Druids are in much the same boat because they have stealth as well. Sure, Hunters can get stealth, but its not a ‘toggle’ type ability like Druids or Rogues, it has a notable CD.
For some reason I can’t seem to 5 mask a HV. I get near the end, and some mechanic fears and stuns me in my own mess and I can’t get out of it, so it drains my sanity. I’m still trying though, it’s obvious some classes have it easier than others.
The Speed debuff Madness can be murder on a large number of classes. I’ve noticed they’re the most painful on DoT heavy classes. Just as an example of a Madness working against you.
Yeah, my Hunter is one of my monsters in regards to Horrific Visions. It’s just too easy with him. My Frost DK is my other absolute monster in regards to Horrific Visions.
Other classes vary, and some are “oh, that madness? skip this week.”
Yer the speed is annoying for meele people. The only other one that gets annoying is split personality. Get that up on a wall (like the mage zone) and a aoe heading for you = death by going insain
Horrific visions were fun at first, but by the third week of clearing five masks it has gotten rather monotonous. Some more variability in them would have helped. Hopefully the next incarnation in Shadowlands will have more staying power.
Desynchronized is without question the madness I would pick if I could permanently remove one from appearing. It leaves me wondering what made a dev think this would in any way be interesting or fun to deal with. I’d rather deal with any of the other mechanics than the one that reminds me how terrible casters, and I assume every class, felt when they first reached level 120 and had 6-8% haste.
Rogue probably hasn’t tried it outside of solo. That would require him to actually fight the trash and he wouldn’t be able to act smug on the forums as if soloing the content with 5 masks as a rogue is some sort of epic accomplishment.
thank you for breaking it to me that a feature that if i make just a little mistake i can ruin the entire run for nothing, it is an absurd easily soloable feature…
wow i need a good heal on my self-esteem about that one.
I just wish you weren’t punished so heavily when you go in with a party. It’s a cakewalk solo. It’s frustrating as hell with a group of 2 or more unless you’re near equally geared.
And if you’re bringing a healer … sure, their healing is handy, but considering how much extra health mobs get for each player … it can end up holding you back.
I think they said that each player beyond the first adds anywhere from 80 to 120% extra health to the mobs. So 2 DPS and a Healer are facing mobs with 3 times the health of solo, and you don’t have 3 times the dps.
I mean, they made it easier for tanks and healers to solo, but once they go with a DPS, they’re counted as if they were any other warm body.
The system SHOULD look at their specs since SOLO Tanks and Healers are treated differently.
