Iâm surprised anyone is acting outraged honestly
This is the industry norm for a brand new reputable series current gen game
Honestly I donât consider Diablo a triple A game. So Iâma wait for it to go on sale cause itâs bargain bin material.
Agreed. Iâm not paying $70 for a game with microtransactions.
Itâs not really a âstandardâ edition at $70. They tacked on some D3, DI and WoW goodies to justify the higher price point. Understandably, that rings pretty hollow with folks who have been used to $60 games for years now.
Not that it matters to me because Iâm buying the $100 version when itâs closer to launch.
All that other stuff is extra, some people might have D3 already and wow mount maybe someone dosent play wow at all⊠But its pretty standard for new games to be 70 bucks these days
The pricing in EU
Standard 69.99 euro
Deluxe 89.99 euro
Ultimate 99.99 euro
Pretty expensive game but all AAA studios are demanding around 70 euro/dollar for their games 2022!
as long as the cash cows keep buying it games will keep rising. Thatâs why i mostly only buy indie gamen these daysâŠwell that and they have just been great, more innovative and often a pasdion production rather then an assembly line cash grab.
Even the ones that are more expensive Iâd rather pay an indie dev that money then a big name company releasing the same game for the 10th time.

I hope they add a $1,000 mount to diablo 4 like we can ride around a demon or an angel!
Hey, original Warcraft - Orcs & Humans sold for $69.95 on PC when it arrived, and that was worth way more USD in 1994 than it is today. Weâve definitely been here before.
Gunna be honest, I woulda been selling it for $66.66 myself
People are oblivious to the fact that their chosen hobby has been IMMUNE to price increases for almost 30 years, which is pretty much not the case in ANY other part of society, and they still complain. If anything, gaming is far cheaper now than it was in the '90s.
And released it on the 06.06.2066
Such a missed opportunity.
you also fail to recognize the general wage stagnation since the 90s and how that would attribute to the games being required to have a lower âbuy inâ price to appeal to the masses.
Sure the price will eventually have to be increased (as it did 15 ish years ago when it went from 50-60 bucks a complete game) but there are now other ways to subsidize your game via in app purchases so the price point being what it is (especially for certain styles of games) isnât really justified.
In game shops have a massive RoI all things considered
I remember Neo Geo games going for more than $100 a pop.
AUD prices:
$110 for standard.
$140 for deluxe.
$155 for ultimate.
Taking current exchange rate into account that translates to:
USD prices:
$74.78 for standard.
$95.17 for deluxe.
$105.37 for ultimate.
US endemic prices are:
$70 for standard.
$90 for deluxe.
$100 for ultimate.
Therefore Aussies get ripped off by (USD):
$4.78 for standard.
$5.17 for deluxe.
$5.37 for ultimate.
I was alive and around for all of that to. Those games were prohibitively expensive and they quite literally priced themselves out of the market.
There is a reason why SNK went bankrupt like 20 years ago and that doesnât really justify the cost increase on this game in particular when they are also incorporating a cash shop
So the price is still the same pretty much.
