I just convinced my son to put down Valorant and play some WoW PvP with my brothers and I. I am aware of the state of the DH more or less for PvP, but my 13 year old kid loves the aesthetic and play style. The problem is I don’t know if I have any spec on my priest that would synergize with a DH in 2s or 3s - should we focus on RBGs and have him go vengeance to maximize his fun? I just don’t want him to feel disenfranchised because the class is currently under tuned for PvP.

He’ll have more fun in rbg’s for sure in general, and particularly if you want to heal him as a priest (dh’s and priests just do not synergy).
Can be both havoc and vengeance for rbg’s

Have you suggested him tanking m+? Vengeance is the best tank right now. Easily could push 15 keys and get the mount.
I guess it comes down to the goals you set. I got to 1800 in 2s with my buddy who is a disc. 1800 gets you 220 ilvl gear and tmog. Haven’t really played a lot of arena since getting 1800 because it really is frustrating.
But like mentioned above if you are looking to push rank 1 then ya. Not the way. But casual stuff like what I achieved is super doable.
There’s a Rank 1 DH by the name of Melon who is 3k Rating in 2s , 3s.
He ques with a twitch streamer called Snowmixy she plays a Holy Paladin.
There’s clips on youtube that shows their comp. And how they determine win conditions.
It’s doable, but out of all the DPS available grinding high rating with a Havoc DH just adds extra room for failure along the way.
We are decent in Rated BGs as both Havoc/Veng getting to 1800 is alot easier taking that route with a good comp/healers.
im duelist rbg, we are pretty awesome if you go night fae, i think the fel devastation conduit is pretty rad with the collective anguish legendary , i use unbound chaos+fel barrage+mortal rush but you can pretty much blow people up with hunt+chaos nova+fel barrage because it has a 40 yard range and is pretty fast 
though things like mass root will stop it. i think super high end we might fall off a bit because single target gets more and more important, some classes are just better than us but its still fun for me and i stomp quick play. you pretty much learn what you can get away with and do that…

if you’re running disc, you can play with him just fine in 2’s, and you can find a WW for 3’s, you’ll do really well. veng works too but falls off after 2k
Ask him to play a WW. Same as DH in mobility and superior in every way.
