Cooldowns in this game are supposed to be impactful. Why does my 90 second CD (The Hunt) hit people for 500k?
Why does my essence break blade dance hit a maximum of a 1m CRIT?
And regular blade dance hits 500-600k in Metamorphosis?
As it is right now you can press 5 damage globals in a row on a guy that is AFK and he still won’t be even close to dead. Or those 5 globals would get healed by 1 healer button.
It’s a joke. I don’t really care about the haters in this thread which contribute nothing to the discussion.
I will repeat. DH doesn’t need to be S tier. But it doesn’t need to be the worst melee either. It just needs to be good enough to punish mistakes of other players and kill them, like other classes can.
Reading class development notes for each spec that spand 10-20 sentences and reading “updated icon or gave 4% to Havoc” is absolute depression. Yall need to learn to put yourselves in the position of others. If this was about your class instead you wouldn’t be happy paying a monthly subscription for such an insult in lack of viability.

Those are resoectable numbers. Dh is not two buttons that deal all its damage and you are being dishonest about it.
I wish I had eyebeam or hunt so I got those numbers. Over my 250k fv
DH is perfectly viable now. I played a few in solo shuffle and they topped the damage charts and won most of their matches. Not sure why people still think its a low tier spec.

I thought DH was fine playing in random bgs and blitz with a pocket healer.
I queue up for my first shuffle and face a rank 1 mage named Sol. I’ve never been so owned in my life. 4x my damage, constantly rooted, aoe stunned, Healer ice walled into a corner.
Now in my next match it was a Feral assa and a not-rank1-mage which felt fun. I did more dam but did lose a couple just due to the CC from these specs(I didn’t die but 1 of the healers 0-6’d)
Moral of the story. I just want my 2 piece and to work on my 4 piece. Back to 2s for me I’m guessing
So a Challenger/Rival level player (Im the same, so no shade here bro) gets blown up by a R1 mage and thats somehow evidence DH isnt in a good spot? Can we take a step back and look at this sentiment again?

That’s ok you guys have 100 other passive damage sources that make up for it. Doesn’t really matter if you hit hard. Unholy doesn’t hit hard but just like dh has a million damage sources that add up to insane damage.

No, it really doesnt matter. That’s the point. This is extremely simple:
Anyway you wanna chew it up and spit it back out, a half-geared DH with middling experience (you) getting blown up by fully-geared 10x R1 22x Glad mage (sol) with A TON more game experience and game knowledge than yourself simply isn’t any kind of relevant measuring stick as to the strength or weakness of DH.
I don’t think I can dilute it down any further.

DH isn’t a spec you see people posting on a lot. I only see lots of people playing it when it’s broken.
Could it be that most people don’t like it, unless they’re getting free rating?

makes sense to not see people posting about dh when they feel like theyre being rewarded. getting your head kicked in doesnt set off the happy brain chemicals.
i cant complain though because im still at the stage where i feel like there are things that im personally doing wrong though. that + the spec just feeling weird or clunky makes it feel worse.
It’s literally non-arguable at this point.

I didn’t bash the DKs, Enhancements, Arms warriors and other specs who made complaint posts. If your class feels very bad to play, say it does. If the statistic points to the class performing well and you being stuck, that’s a YOU issue. But if the best players of the class are also losing consistently, it’s time for the Devs to open their eyes…

DH being good is the most potent season killer in this game! So wait until about season 2 or the end of season 1 lol
Ngl maybe it’s because I main Ret, but I swapped over to DH to do some bgs and it was honestly night and day. Sigil, eye beam, essence break, blade dance, chaos strike spam is actually really really good burst. Having like 25% leech during cds, blur is arguably the best low cd defensive in the game, and while you have a 40 second (30 if you use cycle of hatred) burst window like ret does, you don’t have to give up the ability to hard cast meta to have it.
Demon Hunter doesn’t feel bad at all imo, but that might just be because I play ret.
