Here’s my low lift on Developer’s part wish list:
Legendary Changes
- Chaos Theory is now a 100% proc rate after eyebeam
Baseline Demon Hunter Changes
-
Essence Break is now a baseline ability
Maybe by making essence break baseline, this solves all of our problems. If the Essence break cooldown reduced with haste, and mechanically worked a little better (maybe enhanced throw glaive damage as well) - it'd be interesting for the rotation, burst set ups, play, etc. -
First Blood is now a baseline ability
Talents
- Bloodlet returns and replaces First Blood
-
Inner Demons returns and replaces essence break
Use the Inner Demons from legion
PvP Talents
As far as PvP talents go - I feel like given the state of DHs at the moment, the Darkness talent needs to just be… baseline at this point.
- Cover of Darkness is now baseline
-
Immolation Blades added to PvP talents
Immolation now increases the damage of your Chaos strike by 50%, but Chaos Strike now costs 50 fury.
The idea behind this is to give a way for burst to occur at a cost. This could be introduced more baseline, but I’m just throwing out ideas here. The Hunt is what is making DH viable due to it’s burst and leech.
Covenant Ability Changes
-
The Hunt damage lowered by 33%, reduce cooldown to 1 minute and have it generate 10 fury each time the dot ticks.
-
Sinful brand needs to not be dispellable and provide 3 fury each tick of damage. Sinful brand needs provides 50% of the damage dealt in healing (or increases Leech against that target by 50%). It’s kind of hilarious that the Venthyr ability theme “vampire-esque” has no leech component with it.
-
Fodder to the Flame should summon the demon and instantly throw a glaive at it (by pushing the button it both summons the demon and you have a throw glaive heading at it) - this solves the “it takes 3 GCDs to get my Covenant ability problem”, but doesn’t negate the fact that summoning a demon might be advantageous, and doesn’t eat a throw glaive charge. When the demon dies, instantly gain full fury.
Summary
Point here is that Essence break and First blood being baseline gives our rotation in PvE a little more juice, a little more buttons to push, and may even be the answer to the damage buffs needed here.
I’m aware these changes would maybe push us a little too high, but they can just adjust our damage back 5% and maybe it’ll balance out.
