DF seems like shadowlands in a different skin?

Yea temporary stuff that doesn’t stick with you from expac to expac. You can’t tell if it’s borrowed or not until the expansion after dragonflight.

They need to scrap the tree in the future. The only question is when but that’s a future problem.

A talent system is not a borrowed power system. Artifact power is a borrowed power system. Not talent trees that require no form of currency and arent deleted. The entire purpose of redoing the talent trees was so thst they could grow with us.

I’m willing to bet Blizzard will junk it 5 expacs or less from now.

But that’s a future problem.

LOL so 10 years from now.:woman_facepalming:t4:

don’t even know if they’re going to keep it after this one. It’s just people thinking they will.

We got to pruned trees because there was no real choice, and now we’re here cause Blizzard swung the pendulum in the other direction. We’ll go back to pruned trees because Blizzard was right, and there was no real choice.

They’re not redoing another talent system, no. That’s nonsensical to think. Again, the entire purpose was to create a new system that will grow with us. This one does. No, it’s not a borrowed power system and no it’s not going anywhere. Moving on from this nonsense.

They threw out artifact trees, soulbinds, conduits, netherlight temple stuff. You think they can’t throw out talent trees?

And none of those were an entire revamped talent system. You’re describing stuff meant to ve thrown away. Stop acting obtuse. I’m done with this.

talent trees might last another expac, but one after that? prob not. Classes get stale if nothing changes for a long time.

Please no, we dont need more people to make more smaller guilds.

Even if the talent system only lasts for 4 expansions… It is no borrowed power.

The OG talent trees only lasted to Cata.
Which in my calculations is also only 4 “expansions”:
Vanilla, tbc, wrath, Cata.

Was this seen as borrowed power at that point?

so they can add new rows or lines…
As they did with the OG talent trees over the expansions

Nah, the main difference between borrowed power and stuff like DF’s talent tree is that DF’s talent tree is designed to be built upon.

Borrowed Power is a parasitic system that exists to temporarily plug holes in classes/specs and then when the expansion goes away, so does like 90% of what those systems where, exposing the holes that Blizzard created for another parasitic system to fill.

Talents will probably be changed in future expansions. But they’re the baseline which is on how the class is built. They’re not extras that are designed to be thrown away with the few exceptions of wildly popular abilities that get made occasionally.

Lol go play classic

But then there is even more borrowed power in the talent trees in wrath /s

I take the bait.

1.covenant system attached to power, wich df use the system for reputations wich dont have power.

2.legendary,df have none yet and no mandatory content attach to it.

  1. Convulated resource exemple anima, torghast and zereth Mortis, stigya.

4.profession only for Legendary, df make it a end games feature.

  1. Mandaroty system, dragonriding can be fully unluck after 2h only, then its comestic only.

Overall DF have everything better then SL, about raiding m+ don’t fix what not broken

I only see and feel positive right now for DF i could be wrong ,but with what i have seen from the beta and played it i will enjoy it.

This is a ridiculous take. If anything, Dragonflight is going back to the basics gearing of pre-Legion, and getting rid of the absurdly limiting and simple load-out talent tree in favor of something much more complex, customizable and interesting. They are keeping the way you gain rep, world quests, and I believe they are also gonna have something like the Creation Catalyst. These are generally things people like.

In short, no more borrowed power, a return to a talent system we haven’t seen since Cata, and keeping some of the better stuff around. People will certainly complain about Dragonflight, but they complaint about everything, every expansion.

You aren’t real clear on what an expansion is, are you.

What’d people expect?

Devs haven’t changed. Ion still runs the show.

What was going to change?

I love the fact that people automatically judge a expansion when it’s not even out yet and also assuming that somehow Dragonflight will be shadowlands 2.0 when there is no evidence of it.

Resources currency is remaining but everything else is being ripped from the game and being thrown into the digital garbage bin.
