DF does NOT cater to solo players

“Let us get the best gear in the way I want to play, I dont care how long it takes”

“Getting that gear takes too long waaaaaahhhhh”

I’ve been out and watched devokers just melt right through groups of elites by themselves! Wish I could figure out how they do it :pensive:

You can gear up via open world content these threads are beyond ignorant. Like primal storms will give you accountwide currency for gear and 385 gear is good enough for the content thereof.

Where do the sigels drop then?

Pretty sure the sigils are random drops, you can only collect 8 storm sigils per week anyway.

During the invasion event. Where do you think it’s gonna drop?

So… I think the script was dropped somewhere here… you largely complained about the content being non-soloable… though some of your examples include joining groups, such as pvp… so are you complaining that you have to join groups, or simply that players ‘dare’ tag a mob that you’re fighting… or something completely different?

Most of the gear I have is from world content, including primal storms… where… if you kill the non elites you can just as easily get the currency you need. When the rares pop up, everyone dogpiles them, so I guess I’m not seeing the reason to complain about the rares not being soloable… and where you’re posting from a classic character, I can’t speculate it’s due to server population and the like. I worked for it, and not as a no-lifer either. I could have run dungeons and such, but I decided to get initially geared solo and then work my way into dungeons… you know… instead of just queuing in at minimum threshold and expecting a carry.

Hunts are completely soloable… some take longer than others, but again not following where the issue is… and the feast is inferior? Are you legit looking to handle the feast completely solo, in your own phase, with nobody else around? Pretty sure the majority of the feast rewards are standard regardless of soup quality, minus the buff, so again, not sure about this complaint…

Primal chaos is limited, but not impossible as a complete solo player… grab a shovel and go dig some piles, loot some packs, etc… I get most of my primal chaos that way, not in mythics like others…

Pretty sure there’s never been a great vault reward for solo/world content, I wasn’t expecting this to change in a new xpac, solo/alt friendly or otherwise.

Even after all that, you then mention LFR… so which is it? Are you opposed to grouping at all? If that’s the case, is this thread about making LFR completely soloable? The catalyst isn’t even out yet… and Torghast was never a progression feature even in Shadowlands… it was a great feature that you were forced to run in order to get your legendaries…

I can respect where you’re coming from… I’ve been here a long time (2004 if anyone cares), but the game has never fully catered to solo and has grown nonetheless… the game has always tried to convert solo players, while still giving them something to do. Every aspect of world content that you’re complaining about simply requires a little patience, even the elites… if you just want to barrel into content without any concern for if the mob is an elite or not, the next post you’ll be making will be about having nothing to do. Just chill, hang out at those elite world quests, someone tags it, you tag in. It legit couldn’t be easier with cross faction tagging now too. At the end of the day, the gear you’re looking for, from that harder content, isn’t required to do the content that you’re doing… I hate echoing that, but it’s true. If you’re not clearing Mythic raids, you don’t need Mythic, or even heroic raid quality gear. It’s just not needed. My ilvl isn’t anything stellar, but it is primarily through world content, and there are some elite world quests, as a dps, that I can solo just fine. It just takes you working for the reward

The only valid point I’d argue in your favor would be the campaign quests that actively require clearing the dungeons. Not the Sparks, that’s debatably a different level of gear, but it still frustrates most people that it was gated behind a dungeon. Main story campaign quests blocking campaign progress/achievement/completion behind a dungeon does suck a little for full-on-solo-players

Their randoms ok,so any of them?

hey @OP, you forgot “no sources of gold for solo-casual players” on that list :chart_with_downwards_trend:

Ok,I’m not responding to you.

Not to mention the gear from primal storms which you can get without grouping and simply tagging alongside everyone else also has multiple open world bonuses that are pretty helpful.

I dont remember a tier bonus set from world quests in other expacs. Higher ilvl gear sure but not bonused tier…

Yea… I just go kill Djaradin until one of them drops the item specific to that storm, and then turn it in at Valdrakken for 2 storm sigils. That’s why you can only get 8 per week – each storm type drops one of the quest items for it’s particular element.

The only instanced content we have had in the past two expansions that scaled to solo players is Mage Tower and Torghast, and neither of those provided any power progression.

Game designers seem willing to offer soloable challenges, but with the restriction that no gear can be awarded.

Solo players want soloable content that offers progression, and we aren’t getting that in Dragonflight.

Doing lower level M+ or Normal raids in a full group is easier than soloing some rares as an undergeared DPS spec.

It’s not a matter of believing, it’s a matter of numbers. Some rares do way too much damage to tank as a non-tank. If you disagree, it means you haven’t tried to solo everything.

that’s because solo player doesn’t actually mean “never join a group ever”

You seem to be assuming that solo (or as I prefer, social) players cannot interact with other players to achieve fun.

Take me for instance - fairly typical social player, I only have one level 70 atm due to limited play time, but he is a Paladin and fairly capable. When the world boss is up, I join a random group, never say a word to anybody, and get my weekly chance at some nice loot. So far he has got 2 pieces. It’s no hardship to do that, its just click a screen, select a role, get ready and then hit the boss when everyone else does.

Its about as close to solo raiding as you can get in the game and doesn’t require all that much effort.

And as the majority of the mobs in this expansion are open tap, it doesn’t matter much if you go in alone, you can be fighting over a mob and have the same chance as anyone else at getting something good from them.

For which I personally am thankful. Not only would it have been completely outside the theme of this expansion, it would have been repeating content I found very boring.

I notice you didn’t mention crarfted gear.

So doing content designed for a group, in a group, is easier than trying to solo an overworld elite you’re undergeared/outclassed for? I mean, that makes sense doesn’t it?

In that full group you described you have other classes that fill in the voids you can’t fill yourself. Ofc it’s going to be easier. I don’t know about “more rewarding” considering loot rules and the scarcity of loot itself.

Ok,I just started doing them thanks for the info.

Also the storm gear can be converted to be tier set gear via the catalyst.
