DF Burst Level

Yes, but to be fair huge gear disparities rarely surface in rated arena. And when they do it’s usually a temporary issue.

In example:

This character is rival 1 geared, my other lock is duelist geared. The difference is:

6k hps
120 int
1% mastery
1% haste
1% vers
Undead trinket vs orc stun reduction

The latter is the only thing that genuinely lost me games before, and even those games are few and far between.

Kennies talked about how bad the gearing is several times. He just also happens to make fun of the 1600 players who think gear is the reason why they can’t break 1800 when they also couldn’t break it in any previous expansion either.

Tuning basically never starts until the expansion is almost out. It’s literally one of the last steps in the development processes.

It’s simple. A majority don’t understand how game design work and are also freaking out and already thinking DF is gonna be garbage tier because of how bad shadowlands was. So they’re looking for anything to justify hating on it with no real basis.

Nothing is going to change in DF you’re still going to be 1800

I think my main concern is the stacking modifiers from shadowlands comes back but even more so in many specs. Ie frost mage was weak without all the stacking modifiers more classes will feel like that if you don’t stack every possible damage buff before the go.

Skill involved to setup in pvp every possible burst in your rotation is good thing to have, but it likely will feel tedious and also a situation where your damage outside all these stacking modifiers feels awful.

They are determined to keep modifiers in game sadly, but we cannot say for sure whether its going to be extremely analogous to what we saw in SL in regards to class damage. If they tune the large disparity that exists between modifiers/cds and consistent dmg, I’m sure it’ll shift things in the desired direction. Think we might just be doing some hasty generalization without considering their tuning lineup.

I’ve been reading BG forum casuals basically say they would trounce glad players with equal gear for two years now. Greatly looking forward to what the next excuse will be.

Glad players will legit dumpster anyone with “BG exp”. I could do it on any class especially now with no gear gap.

I feel like alot of people have no idea how to play the game still in 2022.

Badferal responds as if someone got a bum from a WorldStar video, gave him a laptop, loaded up pipe and told him to go post on the Arena forums.

That’s the way I’m leaning as well, hence my eagerness to see them scramble to come up with excuse 2.0

Yeah that’s a valid concern.

Bg heroes are a special breed. It’s always great seeing some guy who’s never been above 1400 and backpeddles the entire bg calling everyone else bad and telling them to 1v1 him after the bg.

Most pvpers would. You don’t learn any of the basics of pvp in bgs nor are you ever actually forced to be good. You just zerg and either win or lose.

Solo shuffle will save arena. Pvp is dying more and more every expansion and only the diehards stay around to play it making it even more difficult for new players.

Pvp needs new blood or it’s gonna die.

Sure, and when you still don’t succeed what will the excuse be then?

Was gonna get glad, but the dog ate my W key.

Had a Quel’Thalas MM Hunter berating everyone in a BG yesterday for being bad and doing half his damage. The other team had 4 Hunters and he couldn’t understand why our 1 undergeared mage wasn’t doing as much damage as him.

I can tell you exactly what my reason for not climbing much over 2.1 is. It’s nothing to do with the state of the game or anything like that.

For me it feels like a job at that point. It requires too much effort and too much thought for the rewards. Just not worth it (to me). I like to have fun and it stops being fun at that point.

Props to people who push to the top. I don’t think I’d have much fun doing it (even if I could).

If you don’t have friends and no voice the game is awful. It can be pretty fun with the right group.

Like leveling in wotlk talking to a friend it’s easy and chill. Without I feel likes it’s my job but tougher

I feel you. I’m a beer gamer. I want to get half-cocked on wine, tell dong jokes, and talk about chicks when I game. Getting super technical just isn’t in my nature. lol

I think both of these are accurate.

High end arena is only fun if you really enjoy the competition aspect of giga braining your opponent. However, it can be frustrating and demoralizing at times.

Friends 100% make the game experience better, especially because of voice chat. I don’t think I would queue without friends in the current state of retail. Not only can you communicate more freely about an active match, discuss good bad plays after the match, but you also get to banter and crap talk the enemy team for a good time. :joy:

u dont even need that key for glad hilariously enough
