I bought the new CoD game, sat at the main screen for 30 hours.

Maybe they don’t want to. Why can’t they just earn the gear they want/need to do whatever they want to do. I recall Ion saying in an interview recently that they wanted to make the game one where people did not have to do content they didn’t want to do and still feel like they are progressing.
Capping gear below 400 just because it ruffles the feathers of the M+ crowd doesn’t meet that objective.

Dragonflight is worse than shadowlands in terms of solo play.

And yet I can get gear if I put my mind to it.
Somehow I doubt that.
We got 252 in 9.2. And you said “massively” higher, hence the bump up to 259, which isn’t even massive. That would be the equivalent of 398 in 10.0.
By the way, I knew exactly what we were getting in SL.
9.0: Covenant sets at 197 and jewelry, weapons, and trinkets for 194 from world quests. 197/200 for any slot if you did unrated PvP. This was enough to solo Torghast Layer 8, either regular wings or Twisting Corridors.
9.1: Full gear sets at 233. This was enough to solo Korthia rares and Torghast Layer 12.
9:2: All slots except trinkets and weapons at 252. 246 weapons from rares at launch, but 252 Cypher weapons in a later patch. 246 trinkets from sand piles. 246 in four gear slots if you wanted to sacrifice iLvl for tier bonus.
So not only does DF downgrade us in iLvl, but also in quality and quantity of content.
Ion said he was going to “divorce player power from the open world” and DF is what we get.
Ion said that he wanted to “encourage” grouping up in the open world, and DF’s outdoor dungeons and raids is what we get.
Season 4 actually happened. Solo players and open world players got literally nothing.
It’s all there in the game itself, even if you refuse to believe game devs or the solo players who say that DF isn’t really catering to them.

You can doubt until the cows come home, it’s still the truth.
And it’s my truth that Shadowlands was better for solo play. Easy LFR tier gear by doing some sandworn chests, rares, etc.

Weird, because I’m having a much better time as a solo player in df.
And never in SL did you get anything as good as the 5 405 slots you can get right now solo.
Give me some examples, please. Aside from the mind numbing tempest gear grind.
