One of the reasons Legion’s story was so cohesive and well done is because it’s been the underlying story behind all of WoW’s other storylines and history. WC3 introduced us more clearly to the Legion and that antagonist has always been at the back of our minds.
Similarly, Wrath was a good storyline because it was the culmination of the story begun in WC3’s expansion, predating WoW itself.
Amazingly enough, an expansion based on a full blown faction war should have been the culmination & peak of their storytelling abilities, because it’s been the basis of everything from the original Warcraft title. They incredibly failed to deliver a successful story this time, when the other previous times they had years of backstory to work with, they had delivered successes.
Insightful, but I do not think a lack of source material is the issue here. Blizzards has proven itself quite capable of building lore in WoW. Garrosh’s original introduction in BC is a great example of this. They spun all that out of whole cloth within the context of an MMO and it was beautifully done. For better or for worse it also gave them all the threads they needed for Horde faction storytelling in the next 2 expansions, even if they ended up bungling it.

Um excuse me, you think Killer Cobra is bad and should never ever ever be used? I can’t even take you seriously. My entire build, traits and trinks and all is designed around maximizing my bestial wrath KC spam phase and I do pretty damn well for myself.

You’re hurting yourself in everything but burst damage mate. I loved that talent in Legion but it isn’t worth the loss at this point.

Are you setting up for your burst phase with Aspect of the Wild and throwing up barbed shots so you can maintain your damage without dry spots of focus in your Wrath, or are you just popping Wrath and trying to spam KCs? Cause if you’re doing it without prep, you’re not gonna get anything done.

You always had that chance to be randomly gibbed while sapping back then.
Because apparently it was “fun” to let RNG decide if you land a CC without being 1 shotted.
What’s funny about BM complaining about talents is that in TBC the best spec a hunter could so was spec 5/5 serpents swiftness and use a cast sequence macro to weave steady shot between auto shots.
1 button, 1 ability, max dps.
And Wow’s story has always been cringeworthy.

Let me stop you right here. There is no point in you presuming to tell me how to BM hunter. I don’t know that I’m more experienced at BM, but I can be reasonably sure. In any case if you want to argue the marginal merits of a particularly talent, this is not the thread in which to do so. This is not a theory-crafting thread. That list of talents was merely an example of how the game is packed with dead talents, and there were many other talents on that list regardless. This thread is about systems design and storytelling being exceedingly lacking compared to pre-bfa.

As an average player, after reading your whole post carefully, I just don’t get why you want cyclopes to have two eyes.

With all due respect, I’m not going to write a counter-essay for you. I scanned your immense block of text and found something I disagreed with in an OP that I mostly agreed with, so I responded to it. Your reaction tells me all I really need to know about you, and any further discussion is quite clearly pointless. Have fun, and find someone else to fight you because it ain’t gonna be me.
BTW, the reason I’m “having a different discussion” is because you italicized and bolded something to which you clearly wanted to draw attention to. So you drew attention to it.

No where in that quote you made is Killer Cobra mentioned, and you didn’t actually say anything about the other points in the thread. In fact you opened with saying you can’t take me seriously because I listed Killer Cobra as a dead talent…so who’s character is on display here?
