Devs Say They Won't Ban Tanks from Solo Shuffle But You Don't Include Them Either

No, the fact that you have nothing substantial to add other than “no tanks” and “look at my rating” more than sufficiently makes it less of an opinion for me.

So you’re saying it’s okay that WoW’s PvP is defunct and excludes roles/specs due to a degree of either ineptitude or laziness on Blizzard’s part?

Interesting.

Right, which in this case would be you, since you’ve apparently never played an MMO that successfully integrated tanks into PvP.

Not my fault that you lack that experience, and not my obligation to educate you.

I am sorry you dont have any credibility on the subject. Not my problem.

No, I am saying that taking a spec designed for PvE and surviving multiple mobs beating on them isnt designed for 3v3 combat.

This is WoW. Other games dont matter especially when you still continue to name them which makes me think they actually dont exist.

I have WoW arena experience. If you want to play a tank in PvP Rated BGs are there.

So youre just being obtuse or trolling. Gotcha.

And this is why you should never argue with elves.

Instead, just get the shoe ready for throwing.

The majority of people hate tanks in PvP.

The needs of the few, thankfully, dont outweigh the many in a videogame unlike real life.

I’ve always mained bloodDK in PVP. I’ve only gotten flamed recently for playing blood in solo shuffle. I really hope things improve

I would say tanks are fine in RBGs for flag/node maps

but they should not be allowed in arena imo.

Agreed.

It’s okay that you have no credibility with this topic. Just don’t pretend to be a voice of authority and we’re good!

It’s almost like Blizzard has the tools and capabilities to properly design tanks for both PvE and PvP, but somehow can’t get it right. I wonder why that is.

Nah, I’ve just done that circle and dance with people like you before. You’re not interested in those games, whether or not I actually name them. You even have said this yourself, so why would I bother?

Bet you’d sing a different tune if your preferred classes or role(s) were locked out of specific content.

Nope, I just know you don’t actually give a damn about what I have to say. You have your opinion, and your ego keeps you from considering an alternative to what you already have.

Likewise, I don’t actually give much of a damn about what you have to say, so maybe we’ll call it quits here, no?

Copout: the post. ^

Absolutely based

Nah, this is just tiresome. My point is clear, he and I are basically not communicating at this point, so why continue?

Oh hey another excuse.

Me saying that no effective communication is happening is an excuse?

So sitting here back-and-forth with no actual effective communication or agreement happening is productive in your eyes?

This right here is why watching top players stream will always be better than the esport pov.

Nah

THIS is an excuse.
If you’re going to bring up other mmos that do it and then not cite based on some flimsy reasoning, what else could it be?

Being told “it doesn’t matter” and “this isn’t those games” makes it kind of pointless to bring those games up further, though, doesn’t it? He’s obviously not interested in them and thinks a failure in design is perfectly excusable, which means his point of view is stuck. Why bother at that point?

No not really.
Because there’s a point in those statements - wow does as wow does, not as other mmos. And we’re focusing on wow at the moment, not whatever mmo supposedly balances tanks in pvp. To which I can think of no mmo off the top of my head that does so.

WoW pvp is nothing like GW2 pvp is nothing like FF14 pvp is nothing like Dofus pvp.
I would’ve included the likes of RIFT, Warframe, and D2, but d2/wf are different beasts in mmo games, and I’m amazed RIFT ain’t dead yet.

Tanks are not a fit for the arena.

Why ignore successes of competitors instead of emulating and improving upon them?

Haven’t played many MMOs then. Also, yet another “but this is WoW so other games doing something productive with tanks in PvP doesn’t matter” post. Now THAT is a copout if I’ve ever seen one.

Sure, but there’s a lesson to be learned in not excluding a role from an entire segment of content. That is the only point that was ever made about it.

I don’t particularly think any of the examples I cited alongside wow could be considered ‘successes’ in regards to pvp.

GW2 has a host of problems, one part being botters and whatnot in higher pvp tiers. Plus I mean it’s GW2. I love it, but god if things ain’t off on most days.
