Developer Insight: Combat for Everyone in Midnight

THANK YOU BLIZZARD. For real.

This game needs to be modernized, there is too much going on and for what? If skill expression just comes down to hitting an exorbitant amount of abilities in specified orders (like now), then it’s a design problem, and one I am glad the team is tackling head on. The barrier to entry is far too high for new players; and I say that full well knowing that a large amount of players will say that’s not true, but I think people forget context is important. Not everyone has been playing video games, or World of Warcraft for 5, 10, 15, 20 years, and as someone who has been playing it that long; YES get rid of the bloat, streamline things, there are many other ways to express skill.

We need more players, we need more tanks, more healers, etc… more people in PvP, make it more accessible! That is how you secure the longevity of this game.

If I had a wish, (as someone who’s played every version of discipline priest), it would be atonement is automatically applied, but I saw the evangelism changes so I’m hopeful that will do a lot to help that class. I’d also like it to be easier in the vanilla interface to track who atonement is on and for how long.
