Descending Skies: “Ascendance upgrades your next Lightning Bolt into Tempest”. This is a talent in the Stormbringer hero tree. There is a major design flaw with this talent that really should be addressed.
Why is this a problem:
- Stormbringer has the option of going Doom Winds+Primordial Storm instead of Ascendance for shorter burst windows. If you choose to do this, it makes Descending Skies entirely useless, it just straight up doesn’t do anything for non Ascendance builds despite those builds being viable. This is bad design imo, no hero talent should be completely void if you opt not to take a 2 minute CD when you are given alternative options.
Ideas for solving that problem (just ideas, not suggestions):
- Make it Doom Winds instead of Ascendance. That way this talent would still work if you take Ascendance since you also have to take Doom Winds anyway but would now also benefit non Ascendance builds. So we can opt for 1 min build with Doom Winds or 2 min build with Ascendance and this talent would work with both.
Being forced to take Ascendance or this talent just becomes useless feels really bad especially when Ascendance keeps getting nerfed in PvP. I cannot begin to express how bad it feels to want to get away from Ascendance but continue playing Stormbringer only to see Descending Skies be completely invalidated.
